Last Thursday evening CERT held our monthly meeting at the Ozark Dale County Library. During this meeting we discussed contacts made at the Dale County Sheriff’s Rodeo, events coming up that hopefully we can set up a booth and make more contacts, and then we had an “active shooter” drill information time.

Since CERT administers the information and skills to help folks secure themselves and those around them during a disaster or emergency situation, we truly would like to boost our membership in order to reach out to our community and neighborhoods. The time to lear the correct things to do in an emergency is before the emergency happens.

Hopefully we will be granted a table during the Crawdad Festival and the Clay Bank Festival.

Last night the Dale County CERT team had our monthly meeting. Alan explained our goal at the Dale County Sheriff’s Rodeo. He also opened discussion about the direction of our group this year. At present we are really working on building members.

There will be a basic CERT training for persons who have not taken it yet in Coffee County in October. Dates will be forthcoming.

We discussed online training and registration. Other events were listed and shirts were handed out.

All in all, was a good meeting!

If you’d like to be involved in the Dale CERT (Community Emergency Response Team); please send a messengers link to this site. We would love to train you and get you equipped to handling situations when called upon. Please think about it.

The Ozark/Dale County Library will be opening as a warming center Sunday, January 19th at 6pm through Wednesday January 22nd at 10am. They need volunteers to staff 4 hour slots.
