The Roberta Rose Community and Family Support Organization is dedicated to fostering the mental well-being and overall strength of our city. We believe true mental health for a community is achieved only when foundational needs are met, a philosophy rooted in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Our comprehensive approach goes beyond traditional counseling to deliver targeted community solutions.
Integrated Mental Health Support
Our core mission ensures mental health services are accessible and responsive. We offer specialized, high-impact support groups, including:
A dedicated Women's Support Group.
A vital group for Neurodivergent Teens.
A supportive network for Young Adults.
We have also expanded our reach by partnering with NA to successfully restore vital addiction recovery services to our city. Furthermore, we are committed to equity by providing free or reduced-cost mental health services to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured, removing financial barriers to care.
A Complete Community-Focused Approach
We operate as a complete community-focused non-profit, utilizing detailed task analysis to proactively identify local needs and develop innovative solutions. Our programs are designed to address community needs first, understanding that this is the best pathway to improved mental health outcomes.
Key Initiatives and Impact:
Self-Efficacy Programs: We run job-related programs that not only teach essential vocational skills but, crucially, build the confidence and self-belief (self-efficacy) necessary for long-term career success and community contribution.
The Parks Program: Recognizing the need for safe, accessible community engagement during the 2020 lockdown, we opened a dog park. This initiative successfully provided a critical source of outside interaction. We are now actively planning the expansion of this effort to include a skatepark and other alternative recreational spaces.
Future Initiatives in Development:
We are actively working to expand our reach to support the city’s most vulnerable populations. This includes:
Homeless Support Expansion: We are actively working to secure expanded funding for our Hygiene for the Homeless Program. Additionally, we are in the planning stages for a Family Homeless Shelter specifically focused on providing safe, supportive housing for women and children.
Strategic City Development
These community projects have a dual benefit, extending our impact into local economic development.
We are currently collaborating with the city and local businesses to establish a centralized Community Hub. This strategic focal point will streamline resources and services, ensuring community needs are addressed efficiently.
By creating valuable public resources like the dog park and the planned skatepark, the Roberta Rose Organization is helping the city become a more attractive location for external organizations planning to relocate or establish new businesses. New businesses and resources lead to a stronger local economy, which is directly correlated with a more stable and mentally healthy community overall.
