Sweet Thanks Brigade

Sweet Thanks Brigade We added LEOs in 2020 when “defund the police” movement started.

Delivering sweet treats to local fire/rescue during Thanksgiving week since 2017 to show our appreciation for their service and in memory of Thomas Casoria, FDNY Engine 22, who died in 9/11.

Everyday should be Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. The men and women in uniform do a job that most of us are unwilling or incapable of doing.

We back the blue and all LEOs. Thank you for all you do. Stay safe.

This year, our annual Thanksgiving baking for first responders was no longer just a family affair. Pam Sapp is a neighbor who just so happens to be a former EMT and wanted to be involved and help to expand our outreach. Thanks to Pam for baking the rice crispy treats!

I’ve created Sweet Thanks Brigade hoping to expand to other areas within Florida and find more volunteers that would also enjoy “Serving gratitude one treat at a time” for our first responders. A big shout out to Melissa Szafir for the name and tag line!

This year we were fortunate enough to serve Wildwood Police Department, Sumter County Sheriff's Office-Florida, Sumter County Sheriff’s Annex (both in The Villages) The Villages Fire Rescue # 40 and #51 and Sumter Country Fire/Rescue # 32. A total of approximately 110 first responders.

God Bless our first responders. We appreciate your service to our community. Happy Thanksgiving.

18 dozen monster cookies are done! Looking forward to delivering to our amazing men and women LEOs and Fire/Rescue.
