Did you know that stillborn babies do not receive a birth certificate? However, the majority of states offer a Certificate of Stillbirth or a Certificate of Birth Resulting in Stillbirth as a way to recognize your baby's life. This document is different from a fetal death certificate.

To help families, we have created a robust resource guide to help you navigate how apply for this certificate in your state.

This Father's Day, we are giving away two books. Father to Father by Emily R Long is a simple book of letters written for you, a grieving loss dad, from other loss dads who are living and surviving after the death of their precious child. Emily Long: You Are Not Alone

These books were donated by A Day With Chase Foundation, 501C3 NonProfit Organization in loving memory of Chase who was born sleeping in 2015.

We are so appreciative of the generosity of others that is allowing us to gift these books to families.

Would you be willing to share your precious Certificate of Stillbirth with us?

We are in the process of collecting images of Certificates of Stillbirth from every state that offers this. It will be used as a resource for families as well as give us valuable information if certificates need to be modified. Please note that all personal information will be removed.

Stillborn babies do not receive a birth certificate. However, many states offer a certificate of stillbirth. If your state does not offer this, we are so deeply sorry. Please DM us if you would like to advocate for change.

Please email [email protected] with the image of your certificate (any file type) with your state in the subject line.

After the loss of a baby, many individuals feel alone in their grief. Star Legacy Foundation has a Peer Companion Program that offers free peer support to help individuals not feel alone.

We are currently in need of individuals who are willing to be paired with others who sadly have had similar experiences as you.

We are currently in the process of a creating an online photo gallery resource for families of babies who have sadly passed away and would be truly honored to include photos of your baby/babies. We welcome all babies, regardless of their age.

The purpose of this gallery would be to give families ideas of what types of photos to take during their short and precious time at the hospital.

Today, we recognize Martin Luther King Jr.

"The time is always right to do what is right," is a quote that is so meaningful for so many reasons.

Black and Native American families experience stillbirth at rates twice the rate for other families. Addressing structural racism and its impact on maternal/child health could prevent 900 stillbirths to Black families EVERY YEAR in the United States.

The time to end this disparity is now.
