What a fantastic way to end the week. I had the pleasure of joining one of my partner organizations today at Towson University for their Young Entrepreneurship Program. It is such an amazing program that teaches the next generation of students how to assess a particular need in the community and how to build a plan to address that need via a pitch competition. Today, we worked with the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women. These young ladies had great ideas, and it was great helping them to design a strategy and build a plan. If we want the next generation to be their best, then we must meet them where they are and help them step into their greatness!

What a great event hosted by former NFL player Joel Gamble and his Chase team. I was happy to be a part of the panel that discussed athletes and their finances with the next generation and their parents. It is extremely important that we help educate on the importance of understanding and establishing financial goals. If we can help the next generation to build a financial road map by teaching them to start with actionable goals, then we set them up for a successful financial future. We must be the bridge builders!

Last night, we had a small group, but the conversation was dynamic. I'm so happy that we are able to create a space where men can be vulnerable and shed tears if need be because we are speaking from the heart. A few powerful things that were shared by the men last night, we will affectionately refer to them as Underdogisms: "Make sure that you have a friend who is a 'Lid Lifter' for you!" POWERFUL! Another one, "Standards over feelings!'" MIC DROP! And another one, "To thine ownself be true!" BOOM! Those were just a few but, man what a great conversation! At their core, these real conversations lead to learning how to support one another and truly being our brother's keeper! If you're interested in having me lead a conversation with your group, be it Barbershop, Beautyshop, or Lockerroom, please don't hesitate to contact me. If we don't come together to address our mental wellness, then no one else will. WE are all that we've got, but WE are all that WE need!
