‼️‼️‼️
Call Governor Kehoe's office at (573) 751-3222 and request that he maintains the DVSS, Sexual Violence Shelter Services (SVSS), and VOCA funding as approved by the General Assembly.

We need your help telling Governor Kehoe to keep DVSS, SVSS, and VOCA funds in the state budget!

Last week, the Missouri Legislative Session ended, and we have so much gratitude for the General Assembly for approving the hard work of the budget committees that restored $1 million in domestic violence funding and included $9 million in VOCA funding in the state budget. The budget has made its way to Governor Mike Kehoe's desk. Governor Kehoe now has the ability to do line-item vetoes, where he removes funding previously approved by the General Assembly. Survivor services depend on Governor Kehoe maintaining Domestic Violence Support Services (DVSS), Sexual Violence Support Services (SVSS), and Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funds in the FY2027 budget.

Here's what you can do: Call Governor Kehoe's office at (573) 751-3222 and request that he maintains the DVSS, Sexual Violence Shelter Services (SVSS), and VOCA funding as approved by the General Assembly.

Use your voice to support survivors across the country! These funds are crucial to the work we do here in Kansas City.

➡️Tell Congress to act now and push for the DOJ and HHS to immediately publish NOFOs and expedite the release congressional appropriated funds.

Survivors and services providers can’t wait any longer.

ACTION ALERT: Tell Congress to act NOW: NNEDV.org/TakeAction

Domestic violence shelters, r**e crisis centers, and other agencies have been experiencing federal funding delays. Additional delays will force agencies to lay off staff, reduce services, and close their doors, leaving survivors with nowhere to go.

FVPSA and VAWA support millions of survivors nationwide each year. Of Missouri's domestic and sexual violence support agencies, 47 are VAWA grantees, and 61 are Domestic Violence Support Services (DVSS) grantees. In Missouri, FVPSA is part of DVSS funding.

Congress must push for the DOJ and HHS to immediately publish NOFOs and expedite the release of congressionally appropriated funds. Survivors and service providers can't wait.

Mental health looks different for everyone, but no one should have to feel alone. Our therapists put together their top 3 resources for support:

🧘‍♀️Headspace: Unwind Your Mind on Netflix - A simple guided meditation to help you relax your body and calm your mind while preparing your brain for sleep.

☀️Moodfit App - A major way to improve your mental health is by simply being aware of it. This app includes a journal includes many cognitive behavioral therapy techniques aimed at helping people better understand their own mood, behavior, and any patterns that exist.

🧠Be Okay App - A great way to focus on your breathing when you become overwhelmed or anxious. The app consists of a circle that gets bigger and small, signifying when to inhale and exhale.

What are some of your favorite mental health resources? Share them in the comments below!
