Dear followers !

Our friend, Nadia Granski is launching her new book, Parenting: Return on Intention. Stop fixing your kids. Meet them where they are. It will be available on Amazon on October 14.
https://www.amazon.com/Parenting-Return-Intention-fixing-kids-ebook/dp/B0HHG1WPBS
The book is a story-driven parenting book about moving from control toward true connection through curiosity and building a lifelong relationship with our children.
Nadia wrote, “My children were born a generation apart and raised across two continents, in different cultures, under different social systems, with a very different version of me as their mother. That distance gave me something I could never have planned: the chance to see what lasted. What I got wrong. What I changed. And what mattered far more than I understood at the time.”
Who it’s for:
Parents of toddlers through adult children — and anyone who values connection over control.
When it’s useful:
In the everyday moments that actually shape relationships: when an opinion becomes a verdict, something a child trusted us with comes back as blame, or a yell is regretted before it’s even over.
Why it’s a must-have:
Parenting: Return on Intention introduces the ROI Framework: Relationship, Ownership, Impact. It helps parents separate facts from the stories they tell themselves and notice the quick, automatic reactions that most often cost them connection with their children.

The question at the heart of the book:
What if the goal of parenting isn’t raising a child who listens—but raising an adult who still wants to talk to you? https://www.nadiagranski.com/parenting-return-on-intention

She turned 136 this year. 🪆

The first matryoshka was carved in 1890 at Abramtsevo by Vasily Zvyozdochkin and hand-painted by Sergey Malyutin: a girl with a rooster outside, seven more figures inside, the smallest a baby.

Her name comes from Matryona — from Latin mater, "mother". Generations nested one inside another.

In 1900 she earned a bronze medal at the Paris World's Fair — and became the most recognized symbol of Russian culture worldwide.

✦ ✦ ✦

Television has Russian roots. 📺
Vladimir Zworykin was born in Murom, Russia (1888). In 1919 he emigrated to America — and at RCA invented the iconoscope and kinescope, the tubes behind electronic TV.
A Russian-speaking emigrant helped invent the screen the world watches. ✨

Some words can't be translated — only felt. 🇷🇺
«Тоска» (toska) is a deep ache of the soul: longing, nostalgia, and restlessness all at once.
What word in your language can't be translated? 💬

✦ ✦ ✦

Before a long journey, many Russian-speaking families sit down together for one quiet minute — «посидеть на дорожку», to sit a little before the road. 🧳

A moment to gather your thoughts, wish each other well, and make sure nothing important is forgotten.

Do you still keep this tradition in your family? 💛

✦ ✦ ✦
