🎉BIG NEWS for the ACES Community🎉

We’re excited to share a meaningful milestone in the journey of the ACES Education Family Foundation…

✨ We officially opened our first bank account! ✨

This may seem like a small step, but it marks a powerful moment for our mission. It means we are now fully set up to receive donations and pursue grant funding—bringing us one step closer to expanding opportunities for learners and families in our community.

Because of this step, we can begin turning big ideas into real impact:
💡 Expanding access to innovative education
💡 Supporting families seeking unique learning options
💡 Building programs that inspire curiosity, confidence, and connection

This is just the beginning—and we’re so grateful to have you alongside us as we grow. 💛

👉 Stay tuned for ways to get involved, support, and help shape what comes next!

Love seeing our fellow homeschool program founders sharing their stories with the Chicago suburbs 👏👏👏

Congratulations to our friends and VELA peers at Blazing Star Microschool for a front page (above the fold!) article in the Trib! Such awesome work for families and communities!

Homeschooling has burst from the ideological fringe to the center of Chicago’s education landscape.

We had the privilege of combining business and pleasure while connecting with fellow founders in the VELA network and innovative leaders in the growing microschool movement. These are the kinds of conversations that remind you why you started — and why you stay the course.

We spent an incredible day at STEPS Learning Center in Orlando, a dynamic, student-centered microschool serving diverse learners with creativity and intention. STEPS is known for its individualized approach, small learning communities, and commitment to meeting students where they are academically and developmentally. Their model reflects what so many families are searching for — flexibility, relationship-driven learning, and an environment where students are truly seen.

The next day, we visited Academy in Winter Haven, a faith-rooted microschool built on strong community partnerships and a bold vision for accessible, high-quality learning options. Kipe Academy is creating space for families who want both academic excellence and values-based education in a setting that feels personal, not institutional. Their leadership and clarity of mission were deeply encouraging. We left Florida inspired and reminded that while this work can feel like uncharted waters, we are not alone. Across the country, founders are courageously building new systems for families — and families are bravely choosing paths that look different than the traditional route.

This kind of collaboration and community building across the larger microschool movement is heart work. It strengthens the resolve. It widens the vision.

And now we get to bring that same energy home.

If you’re a family exploring learning options, join us at the 7th Annual Homeschool Expo. Come meet the local program founders, ask your questions, hear their stories, and find the right fit for your child. These are real people building real solutions — and they will all be in one place, ready to connect.

And if you’re a founder or educational leader, we see you. Come to the Annual Homeschool Expo — and then join us at the after-party we’re hosting just for you. Let’s build this network intentionally. Let’s strengthen one another. Let’s make sure no one is navigating this frontier alone.

The movement is growing. The community is here.

Come be part of it.

💙 Why We Started the ACES Education Family Foundation

We started the ACES Education Family Foundation because too many families come to us asking the same questions:

“What are my options?”
“Why does this feel so hard?”
“Where do families like mine fit?”

Over the years at ACES, we’ve seen firsthand that families don’t need more systems — they need clarity, access, and support. They need spaces where learning looks different, where parent choice is honored, and where students are seen as individuals, not categories.

The Foundation allows us to do that work more intentionally.

It allows us to:
✨ Expand access to learning options through consultations and community events
✨ Make opportunities like our Homeschool Expo, Fireside Chats, Uplift Coffees and more possible
✨ Support new founders building education solutions rooted in their own communities
✨ Provide programming and services to families who have historically been underserved
✨ Offer scholarships, individualized academic guidance and support

We didn’t start this to grow fast.
We started it to grow right.

Small. Intentional. Community-driven.
With a vision that’s big enough to meet the real needs we see every day.

If you believe families deserve to understand their options — and deserve access to them — we invite you to follow along, share our page, and be part of what we’re building.

This is just the beginning. 💙
