“Why animal rescue?” We get asked that sometimes. This right here. This is why.

Our rescue partner (Rescue of the Collection), OPARI, recently shared an update about Doris, a puppy who was adopted into a loving home just days ago. When an unexpected medical emergency left her unable to see, OPARI stepped up to make sure she received the emergency care she needed.

Because rescue doesn’t end when an animal leaves the shelter or finds a home. Sometimes, it means showing up when the unexpected happens. It means being there when an animal needs help, even when the road gets difficult.

And that is exactly why we do what we do. 🐾

When you purchase a candle from Wicks Fur Change, you’re helping us do more for animals like Doris. At the end of every collection, we donate 20% of our profits to our featured rescue partner.

Why are we always talking about selling out a collection?

Because the more we sell, the greater the impact we can make. ❤️

Many of the rescues we partner with are nonprofit organizations that depend on donations, volunteers, and foster families to keep going. Medical emergencies, unexpected injuries, food, supplies, and everyday care all add up. Every dollar matters.

Before Nash officially became part of our family, we spent a lot of time volunteering and fostering dogs. Rescue has been part of our lives long before Wicks Fur Change existed. Our business is one way we can continue to give back, and we have no intention of stopping.

💔 Help Needed for Doris 💔

Our sweet girl, Doris, has already had her share of ups and downs.

After finding herself in rescue, Doris recently made a trip to the ER for a suspected insect bite that caused significant swelling. Thankfully, she pulled through, and we truly believed brighter days were ahead for our girl.

This past weekend, Doris was adopted by a wonderful family who were excited to begin their next chapter together with their new puppy. It felt like the happy ending she deserved.

But this morning, everything changed.
Doris woke up with a haze covering her eyes and is currently unable to see. She is on her way to UW now for emergency evaluation, and at this time, her prognosis remains unknown.

As always, Our Pack will be there for Doris every step of the way. We will be covering the costs of her visit and doing everything we can to ensure she receives the care she needs.

Sundays are for resetting.

In our house, Sundays are all about getting ourselves and our home ready for the week ahead.

The cleaning, the laundry, the meal prepping, and making a to-do list of all the candle duties waiting for us this week.

It’s our chance to reset, get organized, and make Monday feel a little less overwhelming. And one little thing that always makes its way into our routine? Lighting a candle.

There’s something about having a favorite scent filling the house while we tackle our never-ending to-do list. And when everything is finally done, the house is clean, and we can sit down and relax… that candle somehow makes it all feel complete. Like home.

Football season is back… and we couldn’t be happier! (We are a Packer and Dolphins household!) 🏈

But in all seriousness, we know that sometimes packages can get tossed around a little during their journey to you. And unfortunately, once your package leaves our hands, that part is out of our control.

What is in our control? Making sure we package your order as carefully and securely as possible.

We put a lot of care into preparing every order because we want your candles to arrive safely and ready to enjoy. But at the end of the day, they’re glass…and sometimes accidents happen.

So if your package arrives looking like it may have been involved in a little Sunday Night Football action, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

We’d love the opportunity to make it right.

There’s something pretty special about bringing together people who believe in the same thing we do: every animal deserves a chance at a safe, loving life.

Today is all about celebrating the incredible rescues, volunteers, fosters, adopters, advocates, and supporters who show up for animals every single day.
