As Nurse’s Week comes to an end, we would like to introduce our President and Founder, Amber Bruser.
Amber is a native to Osgood (Ripley County), dedicated wife, mother, registered nurse, advocate, and community leader committed to serving others through compassion, resilience, and advocacy. As the proud mother of three children, including one child held forever in heaven at the age of 19, she brings profound empathy, strength, and understanding to both her personal and professional life.
Amber earned her degree in Business Administration from Ivy Tech Community College before pursuing her passion for healthcare through nursing. She graduated Cum Laude with her Associate of Science in Nursing from Beckfield College, where she served as President of BCANS, worked as a student tutor and ambassador, and received the Nursing Leader Through Persistence Award. She continues to further her nursing education while expanding her work in advocacy, leadership, and community outreach.
As both a childhood sexual abuse survivor and domestic violence survivor, Amber courageously uses her voice to raise awareness, support survivors, and encourage healing for individuals and families navigating trauma, grief, and adversity. Her lived experiences have fueled a deep passion for advocacy, particularly for women, children, first responder families, and those facing unimaginable loss or hardship.
Proudly married to a law enforcement officer and being the mother to a volunteer firefighter, Amber also understands the unique sacrifices and challenges experienced by first responder families. Her dedication to service extends far beyond healthcare, with years of involvement in youth organizations, Cub Scouts, church initiatives, volunteer work, and community improvement efforts.
Known for her authenticity, compassion, and unwavering determination, Amber leads with empathy and strives to create safe spaces where others feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered. Through her role as President and Founder of MOYA, she continues to advocate for meaningful change while inspiring others to learn how to “move with” their grief, heal through resilience, and thrive with purpose.
