Keep our little Man Cave in your prayers. I will do a video later explaining more. Basically we are not 100% sure what is going on. But this is why we don't allow group play till they have been here for at least 2wks. These kittens seemed healthy at intake. Then MC started with runny stools. Giardia and Panleukopenia (kitty parvo) were negative. He started dropping weight and not keeping his body temp up. I did fluids and added a heat pad and he rebounded. Yesterday he crashed and was rushed to the vet.

Vet said she couldn't believe he was alive and didn't expect him to survive the night or long term.

I brought him home, put him in a warm incubator and gave fluids. He was unconscious, I fully expected a dead kitten when I got back in from cleaning the cabin.

Miraculously he was alert and sitting up, more fluids, iron and some very soft wet food mixed with formula and he's still fighting and perky.

But we have a very long fight ahead of us and I am already super exhausted.

Labs and f***l exam showed nothing worth noting which vet said is an indicator it just started and hasn't affected his organs yet.

Unfortunately we already lost Dad Jokes yesterday. He wasn't even showing signs of illness and was gone. Whatever we are fighting is swift and deadly.

Of course his vet bill was nearly $250 and with tomorrow's fundraiser cancelled just leaves us scrambling even more.

If you can send donations as always we really appreciate it.

🚨Attention! 🚨

Due to last minute staffing issues we have to cancel tomorrow's fundraiser.

Unfortunately sometimes life happens and it can't be controlled.

Please share this around so people know we won't be there tomorrow.

This is what it looks like when you are picking up 10 cats from Spay/neuter. Notice there are only 8 on this cart... I had to go back for the last 2! 😅

We are still very low in funds, that means we can not do emergency intake for sick animals. I only take in what I know we can cover. So please donate, it's been a rough year.

Our cute youngest volunteers are selling rodeo tickets!

Savannah is in the Miami county fair princess contest! She is selling rodeo tickets for $12. They are $15 at the gate. So please buy from her!!!!

She is also looking for a couple of sponsors, so if you own your own business and want to sponsor her then we will include your info in her bio in the fair promo.

Bad picture I am sorry. She's still groggy..

This is "Stash" showed up in a trailer park we have been slowly working thru for the past 3 or 4yrs.

One of the gals that has been feeding her thought she was a he. She told me "he" would be big enough she thought in June.

This person doesn't have a lot of money, but when she does she puts it away till she has enough saved up to get one fixed. If it's male she will wait till she can save up, if it's female she tells me so I can go ahead and cover the cost.

Of course when they are somewhat feral you can't always tell for sure till clinic date.

I am so thankful we got HER in today because as it turns out "he" is a she and chances are in the next couple months or so she would have had babies, however as far as the feeder knows she has never had babies so we got her with perfect timing!

Today the feeder also gave me encouraging news She said the number of unaltered cats at her end of the trailer park is thinning out. I also know she hasn't reported any new litters this year either at her end of the park. So even tho it's been happening slowly it IS helping and it IS making a difference. She also told me she has her eye on her next project and coincidentally I had also seen it both times today I was that way.

The plan then is she will make contact with another known feeder at the other end of the lot and hopes they can work together to start working thru the ones at that end.

I wish I could be one of these regular trappers that sees a trailer park full of stray and feral cats and can crank out 30+ in a few days but I just don't have the resources and manpower to do it. However after our conversation this afternoon I finally feel like we are making a difference there.

Also bonus points the Office staff now wave at me anytime they see me driving in the parking lot. 🤣

Things like helping Stash is what your donations go to. We may be the smallest of the small but we are mighty and we have amazing friends and supporters and people like this feeder who still will send me even just $1 if that's all she has. It truly takes a village.

Don't hate the messy van.... It's fully embraced it's rescue mobile status.... 🤣

Good Morning kitties! 10 kitties headed for spay and neuter! In today's haul we have 1 TNR (yet to be picked up) and a sweet momma we will be returning to her owner now that her babies are weaned.

Our cost for spay/neuter is $85 per cat, that doesn't include any combo testing we do or rabies vaccine on kittens under 4mo old.

So if you can imagine the cost of 10 cats going at the same time hits hard.

Our rescue account is dangerously low. Which means we have to pause intakes even when some of these babies get adopted and especially no medical cases which we have done more of this year than normal.
