What an incredible week on the Columbia River!

We had the opportunity to spend time fishing out of Cathlamet, Washington, and down at Buoy 10 in Astoria, working alongside other nonprofits, veterans, and families. We were able to put a lot of fish in the boat, but even better was watching families spend time together, work together, and make some great memories on the water.

I was also fortunate enough to bring my son along for the week, which made the experience that much more special for me.

We put Tater Tot Lures blades Tater Tot Lure to work throughout the trip. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first—but I’m definitely a believer now. They produced fish for us, and I’m looking forward to experimenting with more colors and putting them to work throughout our fall, winter, and spring salmon seasons.

Now we’re looking forward to getting back home and kicking off our fall salmon trips in Grays Harbor! The season opens September 15th, and we’ll be posting upcoming trip opportunities and dates over the next week.

Family Fishing & Crabbing Adventure – Join Us Outdoors!

We’re excited to announce another outdoor adventure with ACH Foundation!

We’re continuing to create opportunities for families to spend time together, enjoy the outdoors, and make lasting memories.

Our next outing is planned for Monday, August 3rd in the Tacoma area, where we’ll be spending the morning on the water enjoying both fishing and crabbing.

Trip Details:

• Fishing and crabbing adventure
• Target species: King salmon and crab. We’ll primarily be targeting red rock crab, with the possibility of Dungeness crab if we can find them.
• Location: Tacoma area
• Timeline: To be determined, but will most likely begin around sunup and wrap up around 12:00 PM
• Boat: 17-foot flat-bottom Alumaweld
• Recommended for children ages 7 and up due to the early morning start and nature of the trip.
• Anyone who plans to fish or crab must have a valid Washington fishing license with the appropriate shellfish/crab endorsement, as required by law.

Due to the size of the boat, this trip is best suited for one family of up to 4 people, ideally 1–2 adults and 1–2 children. Families of four are welcome, but please understand it will be a tight fit due to the size of the boat.

Exciting News!

We are officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and we’re excited to be getting back into the outdoors with our families!

Our first outing is scheduled for this Monday, and we’ll be heading out for a crabbing trip in the Tacoma area.

Trip Details:

Crabbing only — no fishing

Timeline: Approximately 10:00 AM to 1:00–2:00 PM (about 4–5 hours total)

Boat: 17-foot flat-bottom Alumaweld

Family size: Due to the size of the boat, this trip is best suited for one family of up to 4 people total, ideally 1–2 adults and 1–2 children.

If your family is 100% committed and available this Monday, comment “IN” below. We’ll follow up with the selected family to coordinate the details.

This is just the beginning! More fishing trips, crabbing trips, and outdoor adventures will be coming soon as we continue to grow our program and serve more families.

We’re also excited to share that we’re currently in the process of building our website, which will make it easier to apply for trips, stay up to date on upcoming events, and learn more about our mission.
