We were honored to welcome Dr. Toth from Orrville City Schools to this week’s Orrville Rotary Club meeting for an informative community update. 🔴⚫️

Dr. Toth shared highlights from the district’s strategic plan, including strong academic performance, student engagement initiatives, facility and safety improvements, and the importance of community partnerships. We also celebrated student success stories, including state qualifiers in academics and athletics, entrepreneurship achievements, and exciting upcoming events for families.

He also provided insight into the current school funding landscape and how the district is planning responsibly for the future while keeping students at the center of every decision.

We appreciate Dr. Toth taking the time to speak with our club and for the continued leadership of Orrville City Schools in serving our community.

✨ Orrville Rotary Welcomes RYLA Student Leaders ✨

At today’s meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing from Zoe Zender and Gunner Curtis as they shared their experiences from the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) weekend.

From Friday to Sunday—with no phones!—these students dove into leadership, teamwork, and self-discovery. Through games, group challenges, and even communication without speaking, they explored what it truly means to lead.

💬 One powerful takeaway?
Everyone is a leader—and every leadership style matters.
Gunner shared that he now feels more confident speaking up, while Zoe reminded us that each leadership style can rise to meet any challenge.

We are so proud of these students and excited to see them encourage others to step into leadership and apply for RYLA in the future!

👏 Great job, Zoe and Gunner!

✨ Orrville Rotary Welcomes Sacred Ground ✨

At our meeting on Tuesday, March 3, the Orrville Rotary Club welcomed Sarah Ecker, Director of Development for Sacred Ground, who shared about the incredible work their organization is doing to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families across Wayne, Holmes, and Tuscarawas Counties.

Founded in 2017, Sacred Ground is a faith-based nonprofit that provides day programming, transportation, life skills training, and community engagement opportunities for participants. Today the organization serves over 70 individuals with a team of 23 staff members, maintaining a strong 1:3 staff-to-participant ratio to ensure personalized support.

Participants learn practical life skills like cooking, gardening, budgeting, and job readiness while also spending time in the community at local businesses. Sacred Ground even operates a mobile coffee shop, where participants help serve specialty drinks at community events!

Transportation is a major part of their work. With 10 accessible vans (and two new ones recently added), staff pick participants up directly from their homes and bring them to programming locations.

Sacred Ground also hosts Respite Nights, giving caregivers a chance for a night out while participants enjoy games, themed activities, and social time. Volunteers are always welcome to help with these events.

🍹 Rotary After Hours at Brick Street! 🍹

Members of the Orrville Rotary Club recently gathered for a relaxed happy hour at Brick Street Kitchen and Tap Room, enjoying great drinks, good food, and even better company.

These casual get-togethers are a reminder that Rotary isn’t just about service projects and meetings—it’s also about building friendships, strengthening connections, and supporting local businesses right here in our community. 💙
