STRONG AND BUDDY UPDATE

BUDDY is the long-haired orange cat. As you can tell by the pictures, he is getting along wonderfully with our Catify family, and he's eating with them just like he's been part of the family. We have used this week so far to let him out of his cage for about 12 to 14 hours a day, and we have had zero incidents with our other cats. We feel by this weekend, we will be able to allow him out 24 hours a day, if all goes well.

On a positive note, Buddy is now hissing a lot less at me this week. He has not spit at me for the last two days, and last night was a heartwarming breakthrough. About two hours after we put him up for the evening last night, he actually allowed me to put my fingers up to his nose ONCE, and he sniffed it for the first time since his June 1st Capture. And he even reached his right paw slowly out towards my fingers, twice. So that, for me, is a major breakthrough, and I absolutely love it. He is constantly seeing me interact with our other cats, and especially around 11 o'clock at night, where he is, I am brushing several of our cats, and you can just tell that they love it, and I know he is seeing that. So he's probably thinking, Hey, I'd like to have some of that too, but it's going to take a little bit more time. For me this is a major move in a positive direction on getting him to accept affection and love.

STRONG: Since his procedure for his bowels, within 48 hours he was uncontrollably having runny p**p and for the next two days after he started, he had MANY Butt Cleanings. After the 5th day, they finally started to take form, but he was dropping just 1" or so pieces NOT KNOWING he was doing that. Midway through day 5, he finally had a massive bowel movement, but since then, only small sections about 1 1/4" to 3" long and not many, BUT, at least he is still having some come out and his appetite is really good as he belongs to the "Clean Plate Club" when we feed him.

Please continue to pray for Strong, as we are not sure that we are out of the woods yet. We were told by the veterinarian he more than likely has a neurological issue going on, back from his initial hit by a vehicle when he was four weeks of age, to which he is now three years old. "IF" his bowels back up again with the Miralax and Coconut Oil (since the previous medication and prescription food stopped working) then our only two options are: (1) Help him to cross over the Rainbow Bridge or (2) Get him unplugged again ($700) and Take him to see a Veterinarian Neurologist and get an MRI with other testing which would run about $3500 JUST to get answers. My wife & I have been through SO MUCH with him, we would hate to lose him, but over the last three years, we already have north of $10K invested in him. Worth every penny, but we just don't have those funds as we are taking care of a total of 31 wonderful felines now counting Strong.

Today is LITTER BOX Change Out.

This is a question we get asked a lot having 30 indoor cats. Once a month we completely change out all 17 jumbo litter boxes. We also go through a total of 24, 38 pound boxes of Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal cat litter per month, Using 17 of those at the change out and 2 to 3 every week to refresh.

Then the old litter boxes are emptied and hot water power washed along with being sanitized and ready now for the next change out. So we average well over 900 pounds of cat litter per month just for 30 cats. Scooping is anywhere from 4 to 6 times per day.

It is bad enough that they mess with people with the MRNA shots. Now Merck animal health is doing it with their vaccines and other products? Where is the years of testing to see the results of what this actually does?? 🤔 😡

URGENT NEWS about our Cat, STRONG: PRAYERS PLEASE - SERIOUS ISSUE, Praying for the Best Outcome and the next couple/few days will tell.

For those who do not know Strong's story from 4 weeks old to now just 3 years old, See LINK at the end of this post.

Strong on Sunday August 9th, stopped p**ping anything but a piece here and there. On 8-10 & 8-11, barely eating. Same thing that happened Jan. 1 of this year and was in the hospital. His colon was all backed up and after finally cleared after two weeks, was placed on Lactulose Medication and Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Fiber Response prescription food and has done well until now.

On 8-12, he went in on an ER basis and was x-rayed and given an e***a and sent back with us. By Thursday (8/13 by 1:30pm) Strong produced only 4 pieces of p**p about 1 1/4" long only, none after that. Friday 8/14 he went back and was put under and the p**p manually removed. The BAD NEWS is this is probably neurological from when he was HIT BY A CAR at 4 weeks old. If you read his story, he pulled through SO MUCH we would HATE to lose him at such a young age. "IF" he does not start to p**p on his own, we may not have any choice. Strong WANTS to go, but he may not be able to now.

We do have him on a STRICT NEW DIET of only soft moist food, with added Water, Miralax twice a day and he started today coconut oil (dosed for him) to l**e his inner linings. We PRAY he we begin to see p**p coming from him by tomorrow or Tuesday morning at the latest. Between Wednesday's ER visit and Friday's Procedure, we spent another $1150. If anyone would like to help with his expenses please use the links below. THANK YOU !!

BUDDY UPDATE: This just really warms our hearts!! As with our post from yesterday, it was buddy's 1st day he decided to FINALLY venture out and be outside (as he wouldn't venture out of his cage otherwise) with the other cats since we captured him on June 1st.

Since we can't handle him yet, we didn't know how we would get him back in the cage since he stayed out all day! Amazingly, he left the habitat once I walked out there and ran back to his cage. Yeah!!

Today, after breakfast, we left his cage open and with a minute he came out, checked everything out and went outside, and now at the time of this post he's back inside enjoying life. This makes all the efforts we put into him so worth it. Now I just have to win him over so I can pet him and love on him like I do the others. He is watching my interaction with the others very closely and hopefully he will eventually let me handle him.

Buddy UPDATE: from his initial capture on June 1st. Something Special Happened Today!! See previous posts.

Buddy's major neck wound healed nicely from the surgery. Unfortunately, we have had to keep him in our large 2 level cage right up through today. He will still hiss, spit and claw swing at you if you get too close to him regardless what we are trying to do to slowly win him over.

Despite that, we feel we are making progress as he doesn't do that now when we are bringing him treats or his catnip toys. But he will allow me to get within about 6 inches of him face-to-face and talk softly and nicely to him.

For the last month or so he seems to get along with all of our cats as we have his cage in the same room where most of our cats run through to go to the outside. For the last week and a half or so we've been leaving his door open hoping he would come out and up to this point, he has, but only for a minute and goes right back in.

Today is a special day! He came not only out of his cage and stayed out he is actually right now as we post this outside in our habitat with our other cats so for me this warms my heart so much as we really don't like caging any of our cats unless it's feeding them special prescription food for a short time each day. If he continues to be good like this, then hopefully we won't have to cage him much longer.

When one of our Catify cats is hungry, he (Grayson) will show me where to find the food. Even though caring for 31 cats full time is a major undertaking, you just can't help but to laugh and smile every day because of them and their unique personalities!!

The advantage of caring for 30 cats is we put them to WORK when needed. Head and Neck support when sleeping is very important. Jethro and Wh**ey was doing an Awesome Job on this day during a Catnap !!

On top of the 30 that I currently care for, it seems that we have a 31st member (outside) that is coming on a daily basis for his morning feeding, night time feeding, and likes to park himself in our catnip planter. I wonder why that is?
