UMaine International Students Association

UMaine International Students Association UMaine ISA (formerly known as the International Club) is one of the largest active clubs on campus.

ISA is a community board under the UMaine Student Government and works as a network and a support base for all other internationally-focused clubs. The purpose of the ISA is to bring International Students (regardless of age, culture, ethnic origin, gender identity, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation) together as a unit and organize various activities which will not only enrich our li

ves but also the lives of those surrounding us. All students whether international, local, undergraduate or graduate are welcome to be involved in ISA!

Hey Folks,
If you have the means, please consider donating to one of the Office of International Program funds on this Maine Day of Giving. More than ever global education needs your support! Funds will be used to support our international student community and to provide opportunities for all students to broaden their horizons by studying abroad.

Today is Maine Day of Giving!

The Office of International Programs is reimagining international student orientation by integrating it into Black Bear Bridge Week, UMaine’s new week-long orientation experience for all incoming students, designed to help students start strong, build community, and feel at home from day one. Rather than a separate standalone program, international students will now participate in a shared campus-wide experience that helps them build relationships with residence hall neighbors, connect with classmates across cultures, become familiar with UMaine, and gain confidence navigating both academic and social life. At the same time, they will receive dedicated support on U.S. academic expectations, financial literacy, cultural adjustment, and essential campus resources. With a participation cost of $450 per student, donor support is critical to ensuring every international student can fully access and afford this important first-week experience. Maine Day of Giving is April 29, 2026, and alumni and friends can support this effort by making a gift in advance or on the actual day. With your donation, you can help new students feel welcomed, prepared, and connected from their very first days on campus, setting the foundation for their success and sense of belonging. Watch our short video to learn more about the importance of Orientation!
Thank you!
