Rotaract 6970 Bottle School Project

Rotaract 6970 Bottle School Project Help Rotary District 6970 build a bottle school In Guatemala! Goal: Raise $13,000 by December 31, 2015. Like, donate, and share!

Rotary District 6970 and Daytona State College have come together to sponsor a two-classroom bottle school in Guatemala. The goal is to raise $13,000 by December 31, 2015; we will then donate these funds to Hug it Forward, and they will proceed with building the bottle school. This school will provide poverty stricken communities with an educational platform that has the potential to change their

lives. Hug it Forward is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization; their Tax ID number is 27-0909586. They are a grass-roots organization that facilitates education and awareness by empowering communities to build “bottle schools”. Bottle schools are schools built using “eco-bricks”: plastic bottles stuffed with inorganic trash. Entire communities come together to build more sustainable educational infrastructure for their future. Hug It Forward also strives to raise awareness in developed countries about trash, consumption and the power of community. This mission is equally important to us as facilitating the construction of bottle schools in developing countries. Since October 2009, communities have completed 63 successful bottle school projects, at an average cost of $6,500 per classroom. If you would like more information about Hug it Forward, feel free to visit their website: hugitforward.org. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via email: [email protected]. We would be more than happy to answer any questions you have!
