Danny Clipp Memorial Scholarship

A huge Thank you to Israel Rankin and Josh Gehl for putting the scholarship fundraiser together, hosting and all the food and cooking. A huge Thank you to Flatline for playing. Also to Cassidy Gehl Pridemore, I heard you had a hand in helping with the food. Another huge Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the cause! Jessica Meeks and the OCCF for getting the zeffy account up and going so donations can be made electronically with out any fees. One last Thank you to my family and friends for adding a surprise birthday party into the event for me. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anyone I should have thanked.
We were able to raise over $3200 for the scholarship at the event. There was $375 donated thru Zeffy, making the final total a little over $3700. I can't thank you all enough!!

Anyone who knew Danny very well, knew that today was one of his favorite day's of the year, so I felt it was fitting to set this page up today, on "Opening day".

The purpose of this page is to keep people informed of ways to donate to and/or fundraisers for The Danny Clipp Memorial Scholarship fund. We set this scholarship up as a way to honor Danny's memory by giving back to the kids of the community. Danny loved to coach and mentor kids. Coaching baseball was one of his passions. He was later offered an opportunity to coach along side of a couple of his long time friends, coaching a softball team. He was so worried about that, said that he wasn't sure about coaching girls, but he was so happy that he ended up doing it!

We hope to be able to pay out 2 scholarships every year one going to a baseball player and one to a softball player annually. The bike raffles got us off to a great start at building the fund, but moving forward we will be doing an annual fundraiser of some sort so that the fund can continue to build money and continue to pay out scholarships in Danny's memory even after we are long gone.

If anyone would like to donate at any time the scholarship is set up through the Orange County Community Foundation and checks can be made out to OCCF and on the memo line be sure to put Danny Clipp endowment fund, so they know where to allocate the donation. For any upcoming fundraisers we will post info on this page.
