I like to beat dead horses, its a bad habit

This isn’t about being “green.”
It’s about being FREE.

Every item you divert from landfills
is a dollar you DON’T spend at corporate stores.

Every skill you learn to reuse materials
is an hour of wage labor you DON’T owe someone else.

Our roadmap shows how communities
can reclaim economic autonomy

one bin, one project, one relationship at a time.

Save this and send it to the friend who keeps saying "we should do something like that."

Saw an ill informed thread on this and thought I’d share the perspective of a person that wants a system that works and not one that’s easy.

What is the general strike assembly about? This is a discussion amongst General Strike US & International Chapters including their regional circles which are groups, individuals, and etc that are building communities to meet their needs solely through capitalist means. Regional Circles are also known as Chapter Coordinating Committees and include groups that are preparing communities for direct actions by meeting their needs.

This is about recognizing who belongs when we build something that actually serves us.

It's about creating sustainable communities and building alternatives that center human needs over profit.

Showing up, showing care, and choosing solidarity over the way things are supposed to work.

Its about the work supporting neighbors, mutual aid, community care

The system failing you and feeling the pressure

And being told you can't get what you need without accepting harm from those who profit off that harm

It’s about who controls who survives

Recognizing the vulnerability of the system and seeing the truth.

It’s not about not having all the answers yet deciding we're ready to build something that works. Curiosity, anger, hope, frustration are all starting points.

Ascendance of a Bookworm on Building Systems That Outlast the Ones That Harm Us

The entire series becomes an argument: when the existing system won’t meet a need, you build the infrastructure to meet it yourself! That infrastructure, done right, becomes a form of power that pressures can’t easily crush.

No yard? No experience? No tools?

NO PROBLEM! Community gardens aren't just for people with a green thumb or an empty lot next door. Renters, apartment dwellers, elders, kids, night-shift workers, and anyone who wants fresher food and stronger neighbors all can take part.

Swipe through for more information 👉
Grow where you live: There's a shared plot, raised bed, or container spot waiting for you.

Cut your grocery bill: one shared bed can assist relieving a real chunk of a family's produce for the cost of seeds

Meet the people you already live next to: Most members say the friendships matter more than the harvest

Learn skills that travel: Meetings, budgets, votes, shared decisions— a garden is organizer training in disguise

There's a role for every body and every schedule: Planting, watering, cooking, translating, welcoming, fundraising, or just showing up to eat at the summer potluck.

Save this and send it to the friend who keeps saying "we should do something like that."

Tell us: What's stopped YOU from joining a community garden? No judgment.
