Just a reminder on some ways to better support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities!

The more we know, the better we can support. This can take place in the workplace, at the grocery store, or passing on the train.

It’s not so hard to change our way of thinking, focus on strengths and be aware of how we can better support people in this world. Let’s all work together to make this a more inclusive world!

Congratulations Karmen! 6 months employed in the pastry kitchen is a big accomplishment so we wanted to celebrate with you! 🎉

Our Director of Social Services, sat down with Karmen and her mom to discuss what is has been like working, being a part of the pastry team, and what it how enriched other aspects of her life!

Karmen has reported that she loves her job, she’s gained a community, a deeper sense of confidence and more independence. This is what matters most to us!

A job is FAR more than a paycheck. Congratulations Karmen, we are looking forward to seeing all of your future success!

Did someone say ice cream!? INNclusivity headed to Inspire of Central Florida to bring an ice cream truck to all the folks there! There were smiles and sprinkles all around! This has become a yearly tradition that we look forward to! Happy summer everyone’s!

This is the smile of someone who just landed the job! Employment can mean so many different things. It can mean a paycheck to support independent living, buying clothes, food, new shoes, it can mean a daily routine with supportive coworkers, a sense of purpose and meaning, a place to channel strengths, interests, and skills. Employment can be a fully life changing opportunity, we’re here to make that happen!

Ahmad has reached a full year of being employed!

We sat down with Ahmad and his supervisors to see how the first year has been. Ahmad reported being happy that he can buy clothes and shoes for himself with the money he earns.

Part of The Intercontinental New Orleans Hotel is their lunch service which includes hot food and a salad bar, which his manager reports Ahmad fully enjoys. He knows that when he comes to work he has a healthy and hot meal waiting for him each shift.

James and Cindy, Ahmad’s supervisors, have been very impressed with his work over this past year and look forward to seeing him progress in the years to come!

Way to go Ahmad!
