If this feels like the right choice for you and your baby, ask your medical provider about planning a VBAC.
In 2010, the National Institute of Health shared "VBAC is a reasonable and safe choice for the majority of people with a prior cesarean."
It was echoed by the American College of Obstetricians (ACOG) when they declared: “The preponderance of evidence suggests that most women with one previous cesarean delivery with a low-transverse incision are candidates for and should be counseled about and offered TOLAC [trial of labor after cesarean].”

Planning a VBAC is not an unsafe choice. You deserve to feel supported by your medical team.

Today marks the 1st day of Cesarean Awareness Month. We gather and reflect to reduce the rates of unnecessary surgeries, raise awareness to birth options, and increase access to vaginal births after cesarean (VBACs). Join us for this month of education and empowerment.

Tomorrow, April 1st, kicks of Cesarean Awareness Month, a whole month focused on bringing awareness to cesarean sections. Join us for the month of April as we seek support from one another, find educational opportunities through webinars, studies, and posts, and learn ways in which we can advocate in the birth world.
