Music has a unique way of bringing people together, sparking memories, and enriching well-being. 🎶

Recently, residents at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community enjoyed an unforgettable performance by Travis Ledoyt and the Nashville Boys, who brought the legendary sounds of Sun Records to life with hits from Elvis Presley and other iconic artists.

From a special donor Meet & Greet to a resident-led Elvis-inspired introduction, the event was a wonderful celebration of connection, entertainment, and lifelong engagement.

These experiences are made possible through our Cultural Endowment Fund, which helps bring enriching arts, educational opportunities, and world-class performances directly to our communities. We are grateful to the resident donors whose generosity helps make these meaningful moments possible!

This Memorial Day, Westminster Communities Foundation honors the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

We pause to remember their sacrifice, reflect on the freedoms they protected, and express our deepest gratitude to those who served and the families who carry their legacy forward.

Within our Westminster communities, we are especially mindful of the veterans and loved ones who are part of our extended family. Their stories remind us that courage, dedication, and service endure across generations.

Today, we remember. We honor. We are grateful.

Last week the Foundation was honored to sponsor a very special presentation called "Music on Julington Creek." This spring concert performance by the Westminster Woods on Julington Creek campus choir, Sounds of Grace, and the campus handbell choir, Celebration Ringers, was very special, as it featured our very own residents and their amazing talent, including Lester as the director and Judy as the pianist. The handbells and chimes were sponsored several years ago by Foundation donors, and the seasonal sheet music for both choirs is supported through gifts to the Chapel Fund at WWJC. Many thanks to these residents for sharing their musical talent and joy with us!

Residents of Westminster Bradenton at Point Pleasant gathered on May 8 to meet and celebrate some of the team members who have earned the Point Pleasant Resident Scholarship over the past year. Scholars, Dasha Grooms, Stacy Ann Ford, Netty Collazo, and Nadia Fagirkhil, spoke about their experiences as well as their plans for the future.
Residents also got to hear from representatives of Floridacentral Credit Union, which has pledged matching gift of up to $8,000 to help raise funds for the Point Pleasant Resident Scholarship program. The campaign to raise at least $16,000 runs until the end of June. Gifts and pledges between $200, and $1,000 will be matched by Floridacentral CU until the end of the campaign or until the maximum match is reached.

Residents at Westminster Shores recently enjoyed a beautiful spring concert this April featuring longstanding Florida Orchestra cellist Alfred Gratta alongside Westminster Suncoast resident and pianist Carol Skey.

The meditative performance, A Collection of Hymns and Spirituals for Holy Week, offered an inspiring and reflective musical experience that was warmly appreciated by all who attended.

The Foundation celebrated our amazing donors at the annual Donor Appreciation Dinner at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek on Tuesday. We honored the residents and friends who are Legacy Society members, as well as those who generously donated $1,000 or more in Fiscal Year 2026 (which closed on March 31st). The Dining Services team presented a wonderful meal, including entree choices of braised short rib or herb-crusted grouper, and a variety of unique sweet treats. We also enjoyed the special musical talents of Denis Vasenin, a classical guitarist.
