May 2026 the team headed out for nature and mud!

This wasn't about the destination, it was about the journey. Our day ended with rain, we finished just before the downpour!

Can Wilderness Therapy Be Proven Scientifically?

In this episode I sit down with Rob Meltzer — founder of the Wilderness Therapy Symposium and the new Wilderness Therapy Institute — to explore one of the biggest questions facing the field today:

Why does wilderness therapy work?

We discuss new research into metabolic psychiatry, sleep, nutrition, circadian rhythm, movement, and the biological impact of extended time in nature. We also take on difficult conversations around critics of wilderness therapy, transport practices, ethics, and whether the field has drifted too far from its roots.

This is one of the most thought-provoking conversations I’ve had in a long time about the future of wilderness therapy and outdoor mental health.

Community matters for young people. Family, teachers, professors, mentors, and friends all play a role in shaping confidence, values, and success. Strong communities create support systems that help young people grow, thrive, and feel seen. 💙

When young people may not know how to ask for help, a caring conversation or simply checking in can make a meaningful difference.

Trust your instincts, stay aware, and never underestimate the impact of showing up for someone. 💙
