Ten years ago today, the Pulse Nightclub tragedy changed countless lives forever.

We remember the 49 lives stolen, the survivors, the families, the first responders, and an entire community that was forever impacted. Pulse became more than a place—it became a symbol of resilience, unity, and the ongoing fight for acceptance and equality.

As we mark this anniversary, it’s important to remember that hate, division, and intolerance still exist around us today. The work isn’t finished.

Whether you’re LGBTQ+, an ally, in law enforcement, a community leader, or simply someone who believes in treating others with dignity and respect, we all have a role to play. Real change happens through conversations, visibility, education, and showing up for one another.

Today, let’s honor those we lost not only with remembrance, but with action. Choose kindness. Stand against hate. Build bridges. Reach out to someone different from you. Be the reason someone feels seen, welcomed, and safe.

Ten years later, we remember. Ten years later, we stand together. Ten years later, we continue the work.

Jersey Pride 2026 is in the books, and what a day it was.

Thank you to Jersey Pride, Inc., Attorney General Jennifer Davenport, First Assistant Attorney General Katherine J. Calle, Essex County Sheriff Amir D. Jones, the Asbury Park Police Department, Asbury Park PBA Local 6, the Port Authority Police Department Motorcycle Unit, and the many businesses, volunteers, allies, and community members who helped make this event so special.

To everyone who waved, stopped to talk, took photos, shared their stories, or simply showed up to support one another—thank you. Those interactions are what Pride is all about.

The New Jersey LGBTQ Law Enforcement Liaisons were proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our law enforcement partners, community leaders, and the LGBTQ+ community in a celebration of visibility, inclusion, and unity.

A special thank you to the businesses along the parade route and throughout Asbury Park for welcoming thousands of visitors and helping create an atmosphere that was second to none.

Yesterday was about more than a parade. It was about connection, community, and reminding people that they belong.

This Memorial Day weekend, the New Jersey LGBTQ Law Enforcement Liaisons proudly remembers and honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As we gather with family, friends, and community, let us never forget the true meaning of this weekend — sacrifice, service, and unity.

On June 7, the New Jersey LGBTQ Law Enforcement Liaisons will once again proudly walk through Asbury Park as ONE TEAM — side by side with leadership, officers, allies, and agencies from across the entire state.

Visibility matters. Representation matters. Showing up matters.

So when you see us at Jersey Pride, wave, cheer, scream hello, take photos, and celebrate with us. Every smile, every high five, and every moment of support reminds people that New Jersey continues to move forward together.

And yes… in New Jersey, officers are welcomed to stand proudly with their communities in uniform. That means something. ❤️

We can’t wait to see the streets of Asbury Park filled with love, pride, unity, and energy on June 7.

The NJ LGBTQ+ Law Enforcement Liaisons proudly recognize Sheriff Darrin Russo, Officer Alexander Ojeda, BCI Officer Barbara Cole, and the Bound Brook Police Department for showing up and representing at the Somerset County LGBTQ Pride Ceremony in Somerville.

We are proud to have members and supporters from agencies across New Jersey continuing to stand visible in their communities and alongside one another.

This is why visibility matters.

When law enforcement shows up in our communities with authenticity, support, and respect, it sends a powerful message — that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and safe.

We don’t just attend these events for photos. We show up because representation matters. We show up because someone in that crowd may be struggling in silence, questioning if they belong, or wondering if anyone in uniform understands them.

Being visible matters.
Being supportive matters.
Being there for each other matters.

Right now, our team is tracking 35+ Pride, outreach, wellness, recruitment, and community engagement events across New Jersey, New York, and beyond — and that number is still growing.

Different agencies. Different counties. Different backgrounds. One mission.

From Tenafly to Cape May County… Newark to Atlantic City… Asbury Park to Princeton… our team continues putting visibility, representation, resiliency, and community first.

This isn’t just appearances.
It’s officers building trust.
It’s leadership showing up.

This Mother’s Day, the NJ LGBTQ+ Law Enforcement Liaisons honor every mom, chosen mom, grandmother, caregiver, and chosen family member who helped shape who we are — both in and out of uniform.

We know family doesn’t always look traditional.
Sometimes family is the person who stood by you when the world didn’t.
Sometimes “mom” is the person who loved you exactly as you are.

Today we celebrate the women and mother figures who taught us strength, compassion, resilience, and the importance of living authentically and out loud.

As LGBTQ+ law enforcement professionals and allies, we remain committed to showing up for our communities with pride, visibility, and heart — because representation matters, love matters, and people matter.
