🏊 🏖️ 🛝 🤿 It’s time for our annual Pool Party.

Set those reminders and save the date of Monday August 24th. This is a free event for all stroke and brain injury survivors and their guests/caregivers.

We will have accessibility features available to help anyone who would like assistance swimming.
The entire area will be reserved for our group.

I love this! Aphasia is not the end of communication!

Kirk Douglas once said:

“I discovered that aphasia is not the end of communication.”

Legendary actor Kirk Douglas experienced a stroke in 1996 that left him with aphasia, significantly affecting his ability to speak clearly and fluently.

Before his stroke, Kirk Douglas was known for his powerful voice and commanding presence on screen. He spoke about openly and honestly about his word finding and fluency challenges. Over time, through therapy, persistence, and support, he continued to communicate, write, and advocate for others with aphasia.

Let's all remember that aphasia is not the end of communication, but an opportunity to find another path forward!
