It has been incredibly difficult to gather my emotions and find the strength to put into words the heartbreak I have felt since the devastating loss of my dearest friend, Cayle Tern, last week. Every morning I wake up hoping it was all just a terrible nightmare, but the painful reality remains Heaven gained an angel, and not just any angel… a truly remarkable one. ❤️
I had the immense privilege and honor of working closely alongside Cayle through many years and community projects that were deeply rooted in compassion, service, and humanity. One of our proudest accomplishments together was helping build Phoudonthan Elementary School in Muang Sing, Laos a project that symbolized hope, opportunity, and love for underserved children and families. It was never about recognition, praise, popularity, or status for either of us. We did this work because it was simply who we were at our core.
Cayle and I shared many of the same values, passions, and dreams. We both came from communities where voices were often unheard, where struggles were overlooked, and where people simply needed someone willing to stand beside them and believe in them. Cayle was a fearless advocate for the unheard voices, the underprivileged, and the forgotten. He dedicated himself to uplifting others, both locally and globally, always hoping to create growth, opportunity, and unity for those who needed it most.
I can genuinely, truly, and wholeheartedly say that I loved Cayle Tern. He was my brother at heart. Beyond being a dear friend, he was also a true leader the kind of leader who led with compassion, humility, strength, and action. He inspired people not through titles or recognition, but through the way he treated others and the way he gave so much of himself to his community. Very few people carry that kind of heart, and Cayle carried it effortlessly.
His compassion was genuine. His leadership was powerful. His heart was selfless. He carried himself with humility while making an impact far greater than words could ever describe. The suddenness of his departure has shaken me deeply in ways I cannot fully express. Losing someone who shared not only your mission, but also your heart for humanity, leaves an emptiness that is immeasurable.
My deepest condolences, prayers, love, and empathy go out to his beautiful wife, children, family, and everyone whose lives were touched by his kindness and service. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts during this unimaginably painful time.
Cayle’s legacy will continue to live on through every life he touched, every community he uplifted, and every act of kindness inspired by his example.
Until we meet again, my brother… thank you for your friendship, your leadership, your compassion, and your unwavering love for humanity. You may be gone from this world, but your spirit and your legacy will forever remain alive in our hearts. ❤️🙏🏼🪷
