My name is Robert Jamison, I am around 60 years old.
Thought I would share this great news if you are looking for a great cause that can make a difference in a child's life with diabetes!

Highway In The Sun: 61 Day Cross-Country Bike Ride.
Cause: Diabetic Youth Families Fund Raiser .
Starting Point to Destination: Mission Beach Life Guard Station in San Diego, California to Jacksonville Beach in Jacksonville, Florida
Duration of this event: June 1st 2016 to August 1st 2016

Small bio about myself:
For those who may remember me during our high school days,
On those tired days I would walk with a limp. Being a child who had polio, I also slept with hard shoes and a metal bar at night. As I got older, and my legs strengthened, I could always be found on my bicycle anywhere in town or out of state.
One Summer, after graduation, I rode from White Plains, NY to Lake George in the Adirondacks mountains.
Yes, as a older teen I did have a Chevrolet Impala that I may have drove maybe 5 times while it was in my possession. But back then, my thought was why drive when I could ride?
No insults or disrespect to my peers of course.
Continuing the madness, about 10 years ago, I rode a one-speed bicycle on Pacific Coast 1 from Eureka, CA to Los Angeles, CA.
To this day, I have completed about 38 marathons and Two small triathlons.
What motivated me to want to help the Diabetic Youth Families?
Personally, two of my three children were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last Summer two weeks apart. I am planning to ride a bicycle from San Diego, California to Jacksonville, Florida for two of my children and any other child with diabetes for whom I can make a difference.
Yes, this task has been done before by many in great riders of the past, yet I have a great cause for my madness on a bike.
Remember- presently, I am in the planning stage. I am looking for any companies to sponsor and help with this fundraiser for the
Diabetic Youth Families .

Support team: my oldest son volunteered to drive my Ford f150 Crew Cab
I, would need a camper trailer to tag along. Possibly there is a rv company based in California and also Florida that can donate a rental to this great cause.
If you know of any bike shops of business that would love to donate any equipment please share!
This great upcoming event is not until next year and presently I am In the planning stage it looks like it will take me about 61 days or less.
