What does accountability mean to you?

Accountability isn't about being perfect.

It's about being honest enough to admit when you've made a mistake—and responsible enough to do something about it.

In recovery, that can mean taking ownership of your choices, keeping your word, showing up when it's difficult, and being willing to hear the truth even when you don't want to.

Because real change doesn't happen when we blame everyone and everything around us.

It happens when we finally say, “I have a part in this, and I'm willing to change.”

Accountability isn't punishment.

It's freedom.

It gives you the opportunity to stop repeating the same patterns and start building a different life.

❤️ What does accountability mean to you? Let us know in the comments.

🎙️ EPISODE OUT NOW 💥🙏

Thank you Elisa Saunders for sharing such a raw and vulnerable story of childhood trauma, alcoholism, shame, consequences, recovery, and ultimately turning your pain into a way to help others. 🕊️🔥

Elisa opens up about experiencing circumstances as a child that no little girl should have to carry. At just 8 years old, she found a weapon that had been used to hurt someone and was forced to testify. At the same time, she was being bullied at school and carrying an overwhelming amount of fear, humiliation, loneliness, and shame.

As she got older, Elisa became an English teacher for 14 years and was even recognized as a favorite teacher—but behind the success, alcohol was becoming increasingly destructive. Her drinking eventually contributed to a 10-car pileup and DUI, leaving people injured and creating consequences that could no longer be ignored.

Through recovery, therapy, self-awareness, and a desire to become useful to others, Elisa began healing the wounds underneath her addiction. After losing her mother, she prayed for God to make her useful, and today she shares her story openly with one purpose: if her experience can help even one person, it’s worth telling. 🙏❤️

Elisa describes herself as someone who has “recovered from the seemingly hopeless state of mind and body.” Her testimony reminds us that our stories may look different, but someone who has found a way out can reach back and help another person find their way too.

This episode is for anyone carrying childhood trauma, shame, alcoholism, or believing their past is too messy to overcome—your story isn’t over. What once brought you shame can become the very testimony that gives someone else hope.

🚨 EPISODE NOW OUT! 🚨

The Journey 2 Solutions Podcast (Kingdom Mentality) episode with Elisa Saunders is officially out NOW on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify! 🎙️🔥

Today, Elisa has 14 years of sobriety, but her journey there took her through decades of alcoholism, trauma, blackouts, broken relationships, multiple DUIs, suicidal thoughts, and countless moments where her life could have ended very differently.

As a child, Elisa carried deep shame, fear, and the belief that she simply wasn’t good enough. Alcohol became the thing that quieted the noise in her mind and helped her feel comfortable in her own skin. What started as relief eventually became nearly 30 years of drinking and running from herself. 💔

Even a DUI involving a 10-car accident wasn’t enough to immediately stop the cycle. She continued stopping, starting, and trying to control something that had already taken control of her.

Eventually, Elisa found a recovery community that showed her a different way to live.

Through recovery, service, forgiveness, and a transformed relationship with God, she began changing from the inside out. 🙏

Today, Elisa works in the treatment community helping others find recovery and uses her story to remind people:

✨ Your past does not define you.
✨ You are not beyond help.
✨ Healing requires facing what you’ve spent years running from.
✨ Forgiveness can set you free.
✨ God can completely transform a life that once felt hopeless.

🎯 This episode is for anyone battling addiction, trauma, shame, suicidal thoughts, resentment, or the belief that they’re simply not good enough.

What’s it really like to be a “normie” in the rehabilitation world?

Unless you've lived through addiction yourself, it can be hard to understand what recovery actually looks like from the outside.

There are things you don't see.

The conversations.
The struggles.
The triggers.
The victories that may seem small—but mean everything to someone in recovery.

Addiction affects more than the person struggling with a substance. It affects families, relationships, communities, and everyone trying to understand how to help.

Sometimes, the first step toward helping someone is simply learning to understand what they're going through.

❤️ What’s something you wish more people understood about addiction and recovery?

If you or someone you love is struggling, send us a DM with the word HELP. You don't have to face it alone.

What’s something people misunderstand about addiction?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that addiction is simply a matter of making better choices.

It’s easy to look at someone struggling and ask, “Why don’t they just stop?”

But addiction is more complicated than that.

Behind the addiction is a person who may be carrying pain, trauma, shame, isolation, or patterns they learned long before they ever realized they were struggling.

And when we replace judgment with understanding, we create space for someone to finally ask for help.

Addiction doesn't make someone hopeless.

People can change. Lives can be restored. Recovery is possible.

❤️ What’s one thing you wish more people understood about addiction?

If you or someone you love is struggling, send us a DM with the word HELP. You don't have to face it alone.

From psych wards and detoxes, to hiding drug use, repeated relapses, and losing himself inside an unhealthy relationship—his story shows just how powerful addiction and emotional dependence can become.

But in 2023, Monster finally made the decision to give sobriety a real chance. Through AA, sponsorship, recovery, and learning to face life without drugs and alcohol, he began discovering something he couldn’t see while he was using: he wasn’t hopeless.
