The New Salem Selectboard has approved a change in hours for the library director's position from 19 to 30 hours per week, which will require approval from the Finance Committee and Annual Town Meeting, in hopes of attracting better candidates for the job.

The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners has approved the design for a new Montague library at 38 Avenue A, which includes a two-story building with a 20,000-square-foot space.

Wheeler Memorial Library in Orange is set to receive $325,920 from a Community Development Block Grant for a long-needed roof repair project, which is expected to cost $246,645 and take six months to complete.
