Celebrating 215 Years of Libertad y Paz! 🇨🇱

Chile’s Independence Day is more than just a holiday, it’s a powerful reminder of the nation’s journey from colonial rule to self-determination.

Observed on September 18, this date commemorates the formation of La Primera Junta de Gobierno in 1810—a pivotal moment in Chile’s fight for sovereignty. The Junta was established in Santiago after news arrived that Napoleon had invaded Spain and deposed King Ferdinand VII, causing political turmoil across Spanish America.

🎉 Fun fact: While September 18 marks the beginning of the independence movement, Chile didn’t officially declare independence until February 12, 1818, after a long and difficult struggle.
