Recently, our club had the opportunity to visit Orange Beach High School. While there, we spoke to several STEM-related classes about our organization and its mission.
We began each class by sharing how we each discovered our passion for STEM. After that, we discussed the various ways students could get involved in our club or similar organizations. These opportunities include joining VEX U, participating in Combat, or volunteering at the events we host.
We also gave an in-depth overview of the design process behind our VEX U robots, highlighting their complexity and innovation. In addition, we talked about how we use electronics in our projects, from creating custom PCBs to incorporating AI into robotics.
To wrap up each class, we gave students the chance to drive our VEX U robot and our Antweight Bot, which was a big hit.
A special thank you to Sean Irby (AU ’82) for making this opportunity possible, and to Mr. Paul for allowing us to speak to his classes and share our passion for STEM.
