Opa-locka voters, Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. 📅
The City of Opa-locka encourages all eligible voters to review the important election dates and voting information ahead of Election Day.

📌 Important Dates:
🔹 October 5 — Voter Registration & Party-Change Deadline
🔹 October 19–November 1 — Early Voting at 28 Miami-Dade County locations
🔹 October 22 by 5:00 p.m. — Deadline to Request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot
🔹 November 3 — Election Day | Polls open 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
🔹 November 5 by 5:00 p.m. — Deadline to cure a Vote-by-Mail signature issue or submit evidence for a provisional ballot

Shellie Phelps is a nationally recognized public speaker and community consultant who helps small towns rediscover their identity through creative revitalization. A lifelong artist and art educator, she blends vision, storytelling, and collaboration to inspire communities across the United States. This year, she has launched a pilot program through the North Florida Economic Development Partnership to take a boots-on-the-ground approach with a Rural Revitalization Revival in North Florida. She has had the opportunity to work with the communities featured on the hit HGTV show “Home Town Takeover” and recently published her first book, “Becoming a Big Fish”.

Miami-Dade County, in coordination with the City of Opa-locka, will begin its annual chlorine conversion beginning Wednesday, September 30 through Thursday, October 1, 2026. Residents may temporarily notice lower water pressure or discolored, rusty, or cloudy water during flushing activities.

If you experience discolored water, run your cold water tap for several minutes until the water clears, avoid doing laundry until the water is clear, and check hot water before use. Please allow time for the system to clear and contact 305-953-2828 with any questions. Thank you for helping share this important information with our community. 💧

Si experimenta agua descolorida, deje correr el agua fría del grifo durante varios minutos hasta que se aclare, evite lavar ropa hasta que el agua esté clara y revise el agua caliente antes de usarla.
