Flag Day is celebrated annually on June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the United States flag in 1777. It is a time to honor the history, unity, and patriotism symbolized by "Old Glory", and typically features community parades, essay contests, and flag displays across the country.

Remembering…… On June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in history, attacking the heavily fortified coast of Normandy, France, during World War II. The massive operation—codenamed Operation Overlord—began the liberation of Western Europe from N**i Germany and ultimately paved the way for the Allied victory.

The red poppy speaks where words fall short — a silent tribute to the sacrifices made for our freedom by the heroes who served and died for our country in all wars. ❤️‍🩹 The poppy is a reminder that their courage will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

After World War I, the American Legion Family brought National Poppy Day® to the United States by asking Congress to designate the Friday before Memorial Day as National Poppy Day.

The Auxiliary promotes the poppy as a symbol of the sacrifices our military have made, a symbol to open people’s hearts and inspire them to donate to help support the future of veterans, servicemembers, and their families. 🇺🇸

Today, on National Poppy Day, wear a red poppy to honor the fallen and support the living. ❤️

Military spouses have always been the unsung heroes of our great nation. 🇺🇸 Through every deployment, move, and challenge, they continue to serve with unwavering dedication, resilience, and support. Military spouses deserve our gratitude every day, but National Military Spouse Appreciation Day is a day set aside specifically to honor and acknowledge the military spouses among us who continue to demonstrate Service Not Self. We are forever grateful for your selfless sacrifice, support, and loyalty! ❤️

We at the Meyer Ingraham American Legion are going to invite all Local, Ontario, NY Military Veterans or Active Duty personnel to JOIN US to march in the Parade this year. We want to honor all in our Community and remember military personnel who died in service to the United States.

Hey folks! We have some Fundraising for our Meyers Ingraham Unit 428-American Legion Auxiliary.

Alot of what we do involves of course our Veterans and Veteran Programs. But we also support our Community in many ways.
