Recently, Trump issued an executive order requiring the U.S. Postal Service to ONLY process and deliver mail-in ballots to voters who are on “federally approved lists.” [Boooo]

Although this is not in line with federal or state voting laws, in response, USPS has proposed changes to mail delivery that will block mailed ballots from states that do not submit voter rolls to the federal government. Of course, the executive order faces MAJOR legal battles. A coalition of states that do vote-by-mail, Democratic-led states, the NAACP, and the ACLU have formed a coalition that is actively challenging the rule change.

USPS is exempt from normal “public comment” periods for agency rule changes, but they’ve published their new rule and are accepting public comments via email. If you choose to submit a comment, simply share your thoughts; don’t worry about understanding technicalities of the rule change or its illegality. Common reasons for supporting mail-in voting might include things like our vast geography, the burden on rural county staff to run in-person elections, the exclusion of working people with limited time to participate in in-person voting, and high confidence in mail-in ballots.

There’s also the glaring issue that this order is about voter suppression and that USPS should not be used as a political weapon by ANYONE. In WA state we’ve been voting by mail for a long time, and we should speak up.

To comment: USPS says to send an email to the following address AND to the use the subject line: BALLOT MAIL

The Postal Service is proposing to amend the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM), regarding the transmission of mail-in or absentee ballots for federal elections pursuant to its rulemaking authority.

We need to support our representatives in acting against this madness. Calling for the destruction of an entire civilization is a war crime. Call our reps today. Demand Congress to convene.

🌲🌲The forest needs your help. 🌲🌲

The Trump administration is dismantling the U.S. Forest Service. 193 million acres of public land (bigger than Texas) is being handed over to political operatives and industry insiders.

Here is the plan to stop it slow it down in court, then win the 2026 midterms and elect a Congress that will block it permanently.

But we need pressure and we need it now. These companies built their entire business on these lands. It’s time they said so out loud.

Contact them today. Use this message:

“The Forest Service is being dismantled. Your business runs on these lands. We need you to speak out publicly, lobby your congressional representatives, and be ready to fund the legal fight that is coming. Silence is a choice. Your customers are watching.”

Example: On REI’s website click the blue chat bubble in the bottom right corner, then click the green “Chat With Us” button at the bottom and then paste the message there.

Most of these sites work the same way. They make you go through chat or a phone call. If that’s too much, go to their social media pages and drop this message in the comments on several of their posts. That works just as well.

Ten minutes. Do it today. Then share this so others do too. A handful of emails does nothing. Thousands change minds. Be one of thousands.

Next up! Let’s brainstorm a fun action that honors workers for May 1st!

Mass noncooperation takes coordination, training, and sustained effort. It takes all of us, talking to our neighbors, building relationships, and getting organized. And then, at a certain point, it becomes real and substantial enough to make mass change.
