I tried making composted dirt in a clear gallon plastic bottle I inoculated it with dirt I had veggie scrap in it . The mixture turned into a rich black sluge. I'm going to try using a plastic bag this time . I'll double sack the bag.

If a plant had a brain I would think the Apple mint was one of most intelligent and strongest plants I've ever had. I planted it on one side of my yard. The Apple mint sent out a root and traveled through the crack in the sidewalk finding itself on the other side of the yard. It started a new plant.

This is the time of year when my mother would do her caning. She would make a relish called Chow Chow . Chow Chow is made with green tomatoes , cabbage ,sage ,hot or sweet peppers and many different seasonings. I would recommend using a recipe the first time you make it then experiment with adding different variations of ingredients and other recipes. If you find commercially made Chow Chow in a glass jar , look at the ingredients on the label you may create your own recipe. Chow Chow relish taste good on pork , chitterlings other meat..

We have a yard with small crabapple tree. My sisters old man said one day a deer came and started eating the crabapples. Someone in the neighborhood called the police and the police shot the deer. I don't believe that was necessary. Why can't we live and let live.
