Bryan got a great start on his Eagle project this weekend. He is building tables and chairs for homes at Boys Town. His crew finished cutting all of the lumber over the weekend. Next up is assembly, sanding and painting. Great work, Bryan!

We held an Eagle Court of Honor for our newest Eagle scouts, Brady and Casey. These guys have had an impressive journey in scouting and are great role models for the younger scouts in our troop. We wish them the best through the rest of their time in scouts and on all their future endeavors!

The Troop camped at Lake Manawa, Iowa. We rode the Wabash Trail and worked on the cycling merit badge. Saturday afternoon we trail rode through the forest at Mandan Park , south of the zoo. They had a lot of obstacles for mountain bikes to go over and use.

Thank you Brock for putting on a bike clinic!!!

Scouts participated in Keep Omaha Beautiful this morning. They walked the Papio Trail picking up trash for 3 hours.

14 full garbage bags got tossed in the dumpster. The total weight was 115 pounds. There were also odds and ends like cardboard boxes, large pieces of foam, and an infield dirt rake some ‘kids’ must have carried from a ball field a mile down the trail. (carried that back to the field 😜)

Thankfully we had a pick up that we load up and carried the items back to where we started!

Troop campout to Indian Cave State Park

We did a four mile hike along the ridge above the cave. A local Eagle Scout who had recently been to Philmont went on the hike with us. He gave us some advice on hiking & going to NM.

In the afternoon we went to the event the park was hosting, that included, “Mushroom hunting contest, black powder/living history demos, archery, hayrack rides, and an Outdoor Cooking Trailer.”

Fun event & weekend!

Brock won Blackhawk Scoutmaster of the year! Thank you Brock for your many years of hard work, time, blood, sweat, & probably tears.

Rachel won a Talon award. She’s been a staple of help for years. Not to mention having great camping recipes that I didn’t think were possible.

Mike won a Talon award for I believe his efforts with Pack 396.

We shared a good meal with fellow volunteers & Scouts. Many Scouts won awards for their fundraising efforts. Many adults were mentioned for the countless hours of volunteer work.

Cheers to everyone!

(Couldn’t resist the photo of everyone taking photos 😜)
