Yesterday, another survivor of human trafficking reached out seeking faith-based safe housing with specialized support.
We are currently working alongside partner organizations to find placement in a faith-based recovery home anywhere in the United States. Unfortunately, finding trauma-informed, appropriate placement can be incredibly challenging, especially when a survivor has experienced multiple forms of severe trauma, sadistic, and abuse throughout her life.
Cases like this are a reminder that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Survivors need individualized care, safe environments, trauma-informed curriculum, supportive communities, and programs equipped to walk alongside them on their healing journey long after the program.
This is also one of the many reasons Innocence Freed continues to pursue our vision of opening a peaceful and private home for survivors. The need is real. The requests for help continue to come. Too often, we find ourselves searching across the country for available placements because there are simply not enough safe, specialized housing options available.
Today, we ask for your prayers for this survivor and the others who continue to reach out, for wisdom as we navigate placement options, and for the many women and girls still waiting for a safe place to heal. 💜
