Recently, officers assigned to our Southeast Precinct responded to graffiti complaints along the Field Club Trail. While checking the area, officers contacted a juvenile riding a dirt bike on the trail who was carrying two cans of spray paint. The juvenile admitted they intended to use the paint to create graffiti.

The dirt bike was impounded, and appropriate enforcement action was taken.

We remain committed to addressing quality-of-life concerns in our neighborhoods and parks. If you observe graffiti or vandalism, please report it through the Mayor’s Hotline at 402-444-5555.

Thank you, Omaha, for helping keep our community clean and safe.

Great information from Ralston Police on speeding ticket fines!

Great information from Ralston Police on speeding ticket fines!

We've seen a few posts concerning how traffic ticket fines are used and assessed as a result of the traffic special attentions we conduct in town. Thankfully, the Nebraska Judicial Branch has this awesome breakdown of where fines and fees from traffic citations go, and we figured it would be great to share it with you all!

As you can see, none of the fines come directly back to the police department or the city. This fine and fee structure is governed by state law and prevents heavy handed enforcement having a direct financial benefit to the jurisdiction taking enforcement action.

Our traffic special attentions are driven entirely by citizen requests and a desire to keep people safe.
