We're excited to spotlight EPIC board member and Founder + Principal Consultant at TMG Consulting, Taylor Goulbourne!

✨Q) What inspired you to join the EPIC for Girls board? ✨A) "EPIC for Girls' desire to cultivate a community that values girls of color in sports deeply resonates with me and my own lived experiences. Having had several difficult experiences as a female athlete of color myself, serving on the board allows me to not only give back to community, but help be a part of the change."

✨Q) Which sport or physical activity has made the biggest impact on your life?
✨A) "I started running track—I was a sprinter, running the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash—at 12 years old and continued running in high school, and briefly in college. Track is so interesting because it's not a team sport. I loved my track team, but I also was acutely aware that at the end of the day it's all on me. Track helped me to develop mental toughness and confidence. It made me better at advocating for myself, and not letting others' plans or strategies influence my own."

✨Q) What advice would you give to the next generation of girls in sports?
✨A) "Run your own race—both in life and in sport."

🥊 Strong girls belong in every sport.

Boxing teaches discipline, confidence, focus and perseverance, both inside and outside the gym. We love seeing girls discover their strength and push past limits they once thought impossible.

At EPIC for Girls, we believe every girl deserves access to programs that help her feel empowered. 💪 Learn more: https://tinyurl.com/EPICForGirls

📊 Access gaps in youth sports still exist. Did you know only 33% of girls from low-income families play sports, compared to 68% of boys.

Every girl deserves the opportunity to experience the benefits of athletics, regardless of income or circumstance.

That’s why EPIC for Girls supports programs helping remove barriers and expand access to play.

You can’t be what you can’t see. 📣

For many girls, access to sports isn’t just about opportunity, it’s about visibility. Research shows that seeing role models who look like you increases confidence, motivation, and belief in what’s possible. ✨

That’s why representation in sports matters. At EPIC for Girls, we’re proud to support programs that not only create access, but also reflect the girls they serve.

This , we’re reminded that access to sports is access to something bigger. It’s access to belonging, emotional well-being, and confidence.

But for too many girls, those opportunities are still out of reach. When you support EPIC, you’re supporting an entire ecosystem of programs working to create equity and access in sports and beyond.

✨Q) What inspired you to join the EPIC for Girls board?
✨A) "I’ve always said that if I ever started a nonprofit, it would focus on expanding access to sports and dance for girls. So when I learned about EPIC for Girls, I immediately felt it was meant to be — I knew I had to get involved. As a former athlete and dancer, EPIC’s mission deeply resonates with me. I’ve experienced firsthand how transformative sports and movement can be, and I believe every girl deserves the same opportunities to grow, lead, and thrive through those experiences. I’m passionate about helping amplify these opportunities and supporting the next generation of strong, confident young women."

✨Q) Which sport or physical activity has made the biggest impact on your life?
✨A) "Without a doubt, dance has had the biggest impact on my life. It’s been a constant through every season — especially during the most difficult times. Dance gave me a way to express myself when words fell short; whether it was joy, fear, or uncertainty, there was always movement that could hold it. It taught me resilience, creativity, and confidence, and reminded me that there’s truly a dance for everything and everyone."

✨Q) What advice would you give to the next generation of girls in sports?
✨A) "My advice to the next generation of girls in sports is to stay confident, stay curious, and keep showing up for yourself AND your team. Don’t be afraid to take up space. You belong on the field, in the studio, and everywhere in between. Sports and movement will teach you so much about resilience, teamwork, and self-belief. Celebrate your wins, learn from your challenges, and always lift up the girls beside you. Together, you’ll build something even stronger."
