All good things must come to an end. As the saying goes, so too, will the Patriotic Parade after five years.

After the riots in downtown Omaha and across the nation, the parade was an attempt to honor our nation's Gold Star families and veterans, promote patriotism, remind people the importance of Memorial Day and educate children, in particular, how blessed we are to be Americans.

Thank you to all who came, supported, volunteered and contributed financially.

America 250 will be celebrated in Omaha on Friday, May 22, 2026, with the unfurling and raising of the world's largest American flag at Omaha's Memorial Park. We need 650 volunteers of all ages and hope to see many of you there.

Memorial Day will be recognized with a 10am ceremony at Omaha's Memorial Park. Free pancakes will be served from 8:00-9:30 and sky divers will bring in the colors at 9:45am. Seating for 1,000 under a tent; volunteers will be on golf carts to shuttle you from parking to the event and back.

We believe this will be a powerful event with military reenactors portraying individuals, mostly from the metro area, who died in our Nation's wars. Bring the children and grandchildren for a history lesson about why we recognize (NOT celebrate) Memorial Day.
