A Thank You From Brandon Herring

Friday proved something pretty special — Omaha showed up.

We hit an all-time record attendance at our Art for Everyone event. Seeing that room filled with families, friends, volunteers, and supporters meant more than you know.

And to everyone who left before I remembered to take the group picture... sorry! I'm apparently terrible at group pictures. There were A LOT more of you there!

But seriously, thank you.

Thank you to our community partners, members, donors, volunteers, families, and everyone who continues to believe in Adaptive Crossroads and support Jill and I.

For Jill and I, this has never just been a job. Our family's connection to this community started through volunteering with Special Olympics. I proposed to Jill at a swim meet, our team came to our wedding, and this community became part of our family long before Adaptive Crossroads existed.

That's the heart we built Adaptive around.

We aren't here to compete. We're here because families deserve options. Everyone has different goals, needs, and paths, and we want to help people find what works for them — whether that's with us or another great organization in our community.

That's what Every Path to Possibility is all about. Creating more opportunities, working alongside other great organizations, and helping every person and family find the path that's right for them.

And we're growing.

New programs are coming. Partnerships are expanding. More opportunities are opening for families. We have some really exciting things happening behind the scenes, and you'll be hearing about them very soon.

Friday wasn't just a record attendance number. It was a reminder of what this community can do when people show up for one another.

Omaha showed up.

And we're just getting started.

🎨💜 BIG NEWS FOR FRIDAY’S ART FOR EVERYONE! 💚🎨

We originally said we were going to cap Friday night at 30 participants… but the response from our community has been incredible!

And the more we thought about it, the more we realized something:

We don’t want someone to miss an opportunity to be included just because we ran out of spots.

So we went back out, purchased MORE supplies, made some more room, and we are officially OPENING UP MORE SPOTS! 🎉

More individuals.
More families.
More creativity.
More connections.
And most importantly… MORE MEMORIES TO BE MADE! 💜

Art for Everyone is exactly what the name says. This is a place for ALL ages and ALL abilities to come together, create something, meet new people, spend time with friends and family, and simply BELONG.

We are getting everything ready for another Art for Everyone night at Adaptive Crossroads and we CANNOT WAIT for Friday!

Spots filled up incredibly fast last time, so for this event we are limiting registration to just 30 participants! This gives everyone plenty of space to create, connect, have fun, and enjoy everything we have planned.

Statement from Brandon Herring:

Today, I was made aware that information regarding a professional licensing matter from several years ago is being circulated within our community without the complete context. I want to address it directly.

I expressly denied the allegations involved in that matter. The matter was resolved administratively without a contested hearing. This was not a criminal matter, and no criminal charges were filed. I continued practicing professionally afterward and maintained my professional license.

I will not be naming individuals or organizations publicly. Legal counsel is handling the situation appropriately. However, Jill and I will not stand by while false or misleading information is spread about our character or our organizations.

If you know Jill or I, have worked with us, partnered with us, or have questions about anything you have received or heard, please contact Jill or I directly. We are happy to have that conversation.

We appreciate everyone who has reached out and supported us. We also ask our friends, families, partners, and supporters to share this statement so that our side is heard and people have the opportunity to receive accurate information directly from us.

We will continue focusing on Adaptive Crossroads, Adaptive Physical Fitness, and the individuals and families we serve.

💜 We’re Still in Awe! 💚

We are still blown away by how many people joined us last week for our Adaptive Crossroads Social Table! Seeing everyone come together to learn, connect, laugh, and build new skills is exactly why these programs exist.

THANK YOU to every individual, family, friend, and supporter who spent the evening with us. 💜

And we’re already looking forward to our next Social Table in September!

One of the most important parts of Adaptive Crossroads is that we’re building these programs WITH our community. We want to hear from YOU!

💜💚 PLEASE HELP US WELCOME SARAH HELLER TO THE ADAPTIVE CROSSROADS TEAM! 💚💜

We are incredibly excited to introduce the newest member of the Adaptive Crossroads team — Sarah Heller! 🎉

Sarah brings more than 15 years of experience supporting children, individuals, and families through communication development, education, and advocacy.

Her experience includes:
🤟 Serving as an Educational Interpreter
🏫 Working at the Iowa School for the Deaf in both educational and residential settings
🗣️ Collaborating with Teachers of the Deaf and Speech-Language Pathologists
📚 Providing communication training to organizations throughout our community
🤝 Serving on numerous IEP teams as both an educational professional and a parent

Sarah has a true passion for helping families strengthen communication through practical tools, American Sign Language, and strategies that build confidence, independence, and stronger connections.

And she’s jumping right in! 💜

Sarah will be leading our new Enhancing Connections Within the Family – Communication series, helping families discover practical ways to improve communication and connection at home and in everyday life.

As Adaptive Crossroads continues to grow, we want to surround the individuals and families we serve with people who bring experience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to creating opportunities for all ages and abilities.

Sarah is exactly that kind of person, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her joining us for this next chapter! 🌟

🌮💚 TACOS + FRIENDS = A GREAT NIGHT AT THE SOCIAL TABLE! 💜🌮

This weekend, The Social Table was all about TACO NIGHT — and we had a blast!

Everyone got hands-on preparing their own tacos, working together, learning kitchen and life skills, and of course enjoying what they made. 🌮🙌

But The Social Table is about so much more than what’s on the menu.

It’s about building confidence.
💚 Practicing independence
💜 Learning new skills
💚 Making connections
💜 And having a place where ALL abilities are welcomed and included.
