Happy Sunday to everyone! Yesterday I found some surprises in my watermelon/cantaloup patch.. actual baby fruit growing.. lots more cantaloupe than watermelon, but it’s a start.. 🍉🍈😊

Thank you, North Omaha! 💚

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table at the North Omaha Summer Arts Garden Walk at Nelson Mandela Elementary. It was so good talking plants with you all — whether you walked away with a pepper start, a handful of seed packets, or just a new trick for regrowing lettuce from the kitchen scraps you'd normally toss.

Big shoutout to Rhiannon for her delicious food creations, and to Heather for sharing all the great info about Mission Park Minne Lusa Community Garden!

Events like these demonstrate exactly what C.O.R.E. is about — sharing what we know, building community one garden at a time, and making sure good info and resources are free and accessible to everyone.

We’ll be set up at Nelson Mandela Elementary with a table full of free plants and seeds — come grab some. We’re also showing people how to grow a whole garden starting from stuff you’d normally toss in the trash. Pineapple tops, romaine hearts, cucumber ends, strawberries, blueberries — a lot of it will root and grow again if you know the trick.

We’ve got vegetable and herb starts to give away, plus seed packets for peas, beans, squash, cucumbers, thyme, oregano, and more. Doesn’t matter if you’ve never grown anything before, stop by and we’ll walk you through it.

Come see us, grab some plants, and let’s get something growing.

This Saturday, August 15th — The Garden Walk is happening on North 30th Street, 9 AM to noon! Come stroll through and check out the art, music, and local growers.

C.O.R.E. will have a table there — stop by and say hi! I’ll be teaching how to grow food from stuff you already have in your kitchen, no yard required. Anybody can garden, wherever you live. I’ll have seeds to give away too.

Bring the family, bring sunscreen, and come see us on North 30th Street!

What an incredible day at ! Thank you to everyone who came out — it was so good seeing this community come together. From free BBQ to school supplies to hygiene items, it felt great to be able to give back.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the CORE tent too — we loved sharing seeds and connecting with folks about growing their own food. If you grabbed seeds from us, we want to hear from you! What did you take? Drop a comment and let us know 🌱
