What if your child had a place to build confidence, make real friends, learn practical skills, and be part of something bigger than themselves? That’s what Scouting is all about.

In Cub Scouts, kids grow through hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, community service, teamwork, and family involvement. They learn by doing. They discover leadership, responsibility, and confidence in a way that feels fun, not forced. Whether it’s helping the community, learning new skills, earning awards, or simply being part of a den that encourages them to do their best, Scouting gives youth a place to grow into capable, caring people.

And the best part? You don’t need prior experience to get started. Scouting welcomes families from all backgrounds and experience levels.

Scouting America Military Family Fee Waiver

Effective June 1, 2026, Scouting America is expanding access to Scouting for military-connected youth by waiving the $85 national youth registration fee for eligible families. This program applies to youth members only and is available for both new and renewing online registrations. The initiative is funded nationally through philanthropic efforts.

Eligible families include those with current service in the Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard. The waiver covers only the national youth registration fee, reducing the $85 cost to $0 after the required verification and discount code process is completed. Local council fees, unit dues, optional add-ons such as Scout Life magazine, and processing fees may still apply.

To receive the waiver, families should select “Get Military Discount Code” during the online registration process, complete the verification steps, receive the verification code, and enter it at checkout. Once the code is applied, the national registration fee is reduced to $0.

Scouting America notes that the $85 fee may initially appear during checkout but will be removed after the verification code is entered. The waiver is available only for online registrations.

Today, Pack 205 proudly took part in National Scouts “Trash the Trash” Day, joining Scouts across the country in making a difference in our community.
Our Scouts spent time along the Chehalis Trail, working together to collect approximately 10 pounds of trash. Their teamwork, dedication, and positive attitudes truly showed what Scouting is all about—service, leadership, and caring for the world around us.
Through their efforts, our Scouts also earned the prestigious Messengers of Peace award, recognizing their commitment to community service and environmental stewardship.
We are incredibly proud of Pack 205 for stepping up, giving back, and leaving the trail better than they found it. Small actions add up to big change—and today was a great example of that.
Great job, Scouts! 🌎👏

We’re excited to announce dogs are now allowed in Scouting 🐾

Finally—someone who actually listens.
…

Okay, we can’t make that official. (and please don’t bring your dog to camp 😂)

But we can say it’s never too late for a human to start.
