Established in 2016 to help local veterans with benefits provided by governmental agencies, private corporations and individuals that want to help veterans.

Our core mission is to accomplish the following objectives for veterans in Thurston County:

1) Educating veterans concerning the assistance programs that they have earned by virtue of their service in the military.

2) Coordinate with service providers to ensure that veterans have access to assistance programs provided at all levels of government and by private organizations.

3) Reducing barriers to veterans seeking assistance programs.

2019 was a great year for Veteran beneficiaries and their families in Thurston County.

We supported several participants in Veterans Court, we helped several homeless Veterans with homes, and we helped several Veterans avoid homelessness by reducing those barriers to success.

We bought caps and gowns for graduating seniors who, as members of low income Military Families, could not afford the expense, we helped Veteran Families in the area with Holiday Food gift cards, we helped several Veterans with Gas and Food gift cards at the Annual Veteran Stand Down, and we bought toys for Veterans’ kids for Christmas at American Lake VA.

With the help of McKinney’s Appliances and Selden’s Furniture, we helped Veterans Families with beds, linen and a refrigerator. With your help last year and the help of our other corporate sponsors, we were able to say “yes” to all but one request for assistance.

This year you can take a part of the force that brings our veterans back home. The TCVS Annual Veteran Auction is our main fundraising event, and your support means everything to our members and local veterans. For more information please call 360-561-3612

TCVS is a 501c-3 non-profit organization serving Thurston County’s veterans in need of a second chance.

When veterans return home from the call of duty, they can face serious challenges in re-entering civilian life. Many of them never fully recover from the psychological and physical battles they faced during service, making mistakes along the way that cost them their personal freedoms and even their lives.

We are a group of veterans and community leaders who understand the needs and difficulties our veterans face every day, and its our commitment to extend a helping hand to those who want to better their lives and be an asset to their community.
