Imagination Library of Washington is sparking a lifelong love of reading and learning by delivering free, high-quality books each month to Washington children from birth to age five through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

From the Imagination Library of Washington, we want to wish all the graduates this season, from preschool to college a very big C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S! What a wonderfully busy season of life this can be, whether you're celebrating your little one finishing kindergarten or college, the graduation milestone is unforgettable and cause for celebration! 🎉🎓

When you sign up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, you receive an extra special book in the month of your child's 5th birthday, signifying their graduation from the program! Every child's last book is "Look Out Kindergarten Here I Come" sending your child off into the world with a lifelong love of reading.

In case you haven't heard, 1️⃣5️⃣ minutes of reading with your little ones is all it takes to bond with them, ignite their imagination and build a lifelong love of reading. Families don't have endless time, but just 15 minutes of reading a day can change your child's life. Build it into your evening routine or find a time between shifts to pick up your favorite Imagination Library book and help make a difference in your child's development. 💕📚✨

Big news! 📚✨ Despite losing our state funding match this legislative session, we found a way forward. Thanks to a generous family foundation, we've secured the support needed to cover a significant portion of the state match program through June 2027.

But we need YOUR help!

To fully fund our 50% partner match through the year, we still need to raise $350,000 to bridge the gap — and we're counting on our incredible community to help us get there. Every gift keeps this program alive and puts books in the hands of kids across Washington State, breaking down barriers to early literacy and sparking a lifelong love of reading.💙

Helping your little learner engage with the pages, colors and shapes, characters and story all help to build their reading confidence and spark their imagination, and maybe yours too? 🙃

Each Imagination Library book also comes with some quick reading tips just inside the cover to help make the most out of story time.

Have you seen? 👀 The incredible new international study, done by Dr. Claire Galea, Head of Research at United Way Australia, represents the largest international dataset ever collected on shared book reading, and reaffirms the importance of early literacy.

This study surveyed 86,000+ caregivers in the five countries where Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is available, and followed families over a 12‑month period after receiving at least 10 Imagination Library books. Click the link below to read more about the findings!
