Hello,
This afternoon we had a great meeting at the Carnegie Museum thanks to Larry Judge and Jack Gordon. Larry read us a chapter from his book and showed us the collection of furniture, books, pictures, clippings and DVD all related to Robert Ridgway.
Larry also brought out the 20 Ridgway prints that the bank gifted the museum. It was discussed that some of the prints show a bit of water damage and should be looked at by a professional. If anyone knows of a local art conservator that may be willing to take a look please let Larry or me know. We want the prints to be in good shape before they would be loaned out for display. Brian Ellis joined us on his way to a speaking engagement in New Harmony. He encouraged us to have them looked at before the damage gets any worse. He also suggested that a short essay should be prepared to go with the pictures so that viewers now what they are looking at. I suggested a description of the collection and it's relevance to the area may be good to be created as well. Possible locations to showcase the collection include Beal Woods, OCC Library, Parkside Event Center, Carle Hospital. Let us know if you have other ideas.
We finished with a discussion on upcoming events:
Remember, bring a friend.
