Every day is su***de prevention day here at VMC. After watching many of my battle buddies lose that battle after they got “home,” and realizing how much playing guitar with my brothers helped my mental health, I decided to do everything in my power to make this program happen. In my opinion we’re still just getting started. Everyone who’s participated seems to agree they feel better when they come. And even the people who took a break for a bit always come back. I’m not claiming we’re saving lives (besides mine) but I would say we’re helping. And I believe every other participant would agree.

RIP to all of the fallen battle buddies out there. Today, this one’s for you Spc Ramon Delgado.

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has died at the age of 45.

This follows a long battle with cancer.

Gilbert was dealing with a cancer battle the last few years. In 2022, he shared he was cancer free again only to have it return in 2024, forcing him to eventually undergo brain surgery to remove a tumor this past Spring.

In April, Gilbert expressed hope in returning the to the stage this Summer following that surgery.

On the morning of September 20th, Chad Everett Gilbert passed away peacefully in his sleep. He left this world surrounded by friends and family and took his final breaths with his wife and mother by his side, just as he wished. We are devastated and shocked by how quickly he left us, yet so grateful for how peacefully and smoothly he went. The amount of visitors that crowded the hospital lobby at a moment's notice is a testament to how beloved and cherished Chad was, and always will be. He was a legendary musician, but his favorite accomplishment was being a husband and father. His biggest dreams came true. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, his daughter, Lily, his mother, Jackie, and his brother, Brian.

"Chad's guitar playing, songwriting, humor, and relentless drive helped shape New Found Glory for nearly three decades. Through more than a dozen albums, endless tours around the world, and more accolades than we ever could have imagined, Chad challenged all of us to grow as musicians, performers, and human beings. While we are devastated to lose him, we are so grateful for the incredible life he lived, the memories we shared, and the brotherhood we had. His influence will always be part of New Found Glory and his spirit will be felt on every stage we stand on, with every note we play."

Rest in peace, Chad. We love you forever ❤️

Gordon "Kaelin" McIntyre has passed away.

The news is confirmed by CDC/Years Spent Cold's Kurt Fowles.

Details surrounding McIntyre's death have not yet been released.

McIntyre, who went by Kaelin, worked in the music merchandising and touring industry following his time in CDC, which came to a close in 2006.

Fowles shared the following:

I don't even know what to say. I honestly can't believe this is real.Kaelin wasn't just a friend. For more than 20 years, we lived a lifetime of memories together. We traveled the entire world, shared beds, shared stages, shared countless crazy nights, and were there for each other through some of the biggest moments of our lives. So much of my life is tied to memories with Kael. There are places I've been, things I've experienced, and moments I'll never forget because he was there. It's impossible to process that someone who was such a huge part of my life is suddenly gone. I keep thinking about all the memories, all the laughs, all the miles, and everything we experienced together.I can't believe you're gone, Kael.Rest easy, brother. I'll carry those memories with me for the rest of my life.RIP Kael.

Dang it. Been hanging around this dude since 1997. My first Integrity show, my first One Life Crew show, and a bunch of other Buffalo hardcore insanity was next to this guy. Not to mention that Burial Plot Bidding War is an all time favorite of mine. Rip to the Butcher.

We have been keeping a little secret 🤫

Last week we sent one of our best boys to WNYHeroes.org and Pawsitive for Heroes.

Yesterday he entered their Lakeview facility and is officially working towards becoming a service dog for a veteran once he graduates.

Smokey is an intelligent dog. We knew he would struggle in a pet only home, he was built for more, he has such a drive to please and is smart as can be. We would have done him a disservice asking him to ignore his calling and to be a couch potato.

Thank you to our amazing veterinarian Dr Nicole for fostering Smokey and saving his life from a southern shelter. Of course none of this would be possible without the gals at Tri-Town Veterinary Hospital and Paws Avenue NY who worked with Smokey daily and helped him burn his energy off in daycare.

Rescue takes a village and we are proud of the one surrounding our dogs to be the best they can be.

Good luck Smokey! We will see you when you graduate 💜
