On April 5th, our dear friend and fellow shred sister, Jayme Hill ._me , experienced a severe mountain biking accident, resulting in numerous critical injuries, including six broken vertebrae, sixteen broken ribs, a fractured scapula, and sternum. Additionally, she sustained multiple internal injuries that are still being assessed. Currently hospitalized in Spokane, Jayme will remain there until she is stable enough to return home to the Tacoma area.

Jayme holds a significant role within the mountain biking community, serving as an Evergreen Mountain Bike Instructor, Trek Bicycle Ambassador, and MsFits Ride Leader. Her contagious laughter is a familiar sound at mountain biking events and races. Dedicated to trail advocacy, Jayme devotes countless hours to organizing and participating in trail maintenance activities with the Evergreen MTB Alliance.

Beyond her passion for biking, Jayme is a devoted mother, a Respiratory Therapist, and a steadfast friend, always ready to uplift and support others.

Now, it's our turn to offer support! All donations made through this page will directly contribute to Jayme's medical expenses and necessary living costs during her recovery period. While the journey ahead may be challenging, Jayme can count on the unwavering support of her extensive network of friends.

Thank you for standing by Jayme during this time of need.

⚠️ It's day 4 of MsFits Myth Busting edition ⚠️ And today we are addressing the ever dreaded crash.

💗Oh we love you + this pic💗

Q: " I only get 1 chance at a race run, if I crash or make a mistake I'm FU🤬KED!"

A: Pump the brakes sister... Like literally! S**t happens, and there's a solid possibility that s**t is also happening to some of your other competitors - It's part of racing. So get up dust of those DHaRCOs and keep on going 🏁. If you experience a minor crash, please be mindful of the racers behind you, check up trail to see if they are approaching before entering back on course. If you roll up on a downed rider that needs assistance, please stop and help your fellow racer - you will be offered another opportunity to run your race and it's really good juju 👏🏼.

A few MsFit tips and tricks to keeping your cool during a race run.

#1. Breath - Oxygen is your friend, so keep it flowin' sis.

#2. Relax- Stiff rigid mobile joints limit the ability for your bike to move freely underneath you, plus it expedites fatigue. Remember, smooth is fast, and you can't be smooth if you're stiff as a board.

#3. Have fun- Keep it light, most of us are not to pro status, so pressuring yourself with lofty expectations often results in a negative outcome. Show up for the party leave with a cup sounds way more fun than show up to win leave super bummed🤷🏼‍♀️.

#4. Lastly get the pre-race jitters out by joining us next weekend at Dryhill for our no-pressure DH Day. Learn the tracks in a super fun and supportive environment, and be one step ahead of the game before dropping in for your first race.

Happy shredding 🤘🏼❤️

Weeee Back for day 3 of MsFits Myth Busting, and this one is for all the self doubters out there 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️

We asked the queen herself to respond to this misconception, and I think her answer will resonate with a lot of us that question our riding ability.

Q: " I don't think I'm good enough to race DH🤷🏼‍♀️?"

A: "One of the great things about DH weekend is the progression you see. Usually on Friday practice I wonder wtf I was thinking, and other self-deprecating garbage. Then I get my lines down and have a blast riding with my besties and by Sunday race day I'm shredding the same trail that scared the hell outa me days before. Such a great feeling to overcome that self-doubt." -👑Susan Walsh

So let's throw the self doubt out and insert some inspiring positive affirmations! We fu***ng ROCK, now let's fu***ng RIDE🤘🏼

Okay, we are back for MsFits Myth Busting Day #2 edition, and this question is a doozy:

Q: "I've heard that the DH scene is made up of Chad's, Brad's, Dad's & Lads that roll up on you during practice & push gals off the trail 😳?"

A: While the DH scene is predominantly made up of dudes ( hence why we are pushing for more gals to join ), the level of support, encouragement & stoke provided by the community is infectious.

It's important to place yourself in a mindful position when choosing to drop into your practice runs. Our small but mighty group of babes typically ban together and drop as a crew, which alleviates stressful interaction with "faster" riders. Additionally, taking advantage of course walks to identify your lines before your practice runs can also help a ton! Lastly the NW Cup team truly sets you up for success by spacing the practice rounds out based on categories & will even allow a ghost rider on the day of your race run. So no need to stress, after all it's just bikes, it's supposed to be fun🥳

Lastly -Over the past few seasons we've seen rad gals from PDX, to Bellingham joining in on the party & the female field is starting to grow, slowly but surely. We'd love to see more of your lovely faces on the track, so why not give it a test run. Join us next week at Dry Hill and get a taste of what we're having 🍻 click the DRY HILL. 🔗 in our bio & register today.

The MsFits are clearly hyped on DH, but we hear you - this s**t seems GNARLY! So in response to some of the questions we've been receiving, we are offering 5 days of MsFits Myth busting edition.

Day #1.

Q: "I don't own a DH bike, can I still race DH?"

A: Heck yeah you can! TRUTH, in some cases you might even have a slight advantage. All the squish isn't a make or break, but a mechanically sound full suspension bike is highly recommended. tackled round 2 on her trail bike and had an absolute blast doing so - shout-out to for capturing Jes rallying her Status through a lil tech section on course.

Curious about DH or ready to smash some super fun tracks on your trail bike, join us next weekend at Dry Hill, we guarantee a 5/5 ⭐ experience or we'll refund your entry fee ( for real ). Click the 🔗 in our bio to secure your spot today.

Our Story

Founded in February of 2017 after a hard day playing trial-by-life-partner at Tiger Mountain, out of a desperate need for relatable friends to learn with, the spirit of the Ms.Fits family has always been to make mountain biking less intimidating and inspire confidence for women by women! What began as a small core group has grown into so much more than we ever could have expected. We saw first hand that our learning was accelerated by surrounding ourselves with strong female role models! No more excuses, if we can do it, then so can you and we will help you get there! Keeping in mind that this sport is as often a mind game as it is a physical challenge, a Ms.Fit wants to excel in the sport of mountain biking and desires a supportive and encouraging group of ladies to ride with. We promote weekly rides and are always welcoming new members to join in on the fun! All levels welcome, come get sendy with us!

Furthermore, we love our LGBTQ+ community, so if you’re a rad sister, you ride with us!

Thanks for checking out our page! To get in on the action and meet the ladies, join our ride group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/ms.fitbike/
