RBG-OKC members, this is your friendly reminder to RSVP for the banquet on April 16th!

It promises to be a great evening of fellowship, celebration, and just enough legal mischief to keep things interesting.

Please let us know if you’re coming. We would love to see you there.

And, in the spirit of gentle encouragement, let this serve as fair warning: if you do not RSVP, we may be forced to publish wildly flattering and deeply suspicious caricatures of you for public consumption.

Do not put that kind of power in our hands.

Check you email and RSVP soon, and join the banquet.

Congratulations to RBG-OKC member Seth Rodriguez, a 3L at OU Law, on an outstanding performance at the National Trial Competition regional rounds in Topeka, Kansas!

This year’s competition challenged participants to try a criminal case involving felony murder charges, dueling expert witnesses, and complex questions of reasonable doubt connected to previously dismissed charges against other defendants in the same case.

In an exciting achievement, OU Law advanced to the regional competition bracket for the first time in several years!

We are so proud of you, Seth! Way to go!

Great conversations, even better company. The RBG Inn of Court continues to bring together some of the best minds in the law, and a few pretty great smiles, too.

A big thank you to Collin Walke for an outstanding presentation to the RBG Inn of Court on the opportunities and real dangers of AI in legal practice.

Collin reminded us of a few important truths: don’t cite cases that don’t exist, double-check what the robots give you, and, perhaps most importantly, anything you put online may not belong to you anymore.

It was fascinating, a little terrifying, and incredibly helpful. Thanks to Collin for helping keep a room full of lawyers one step ahead of the machines… at least for now.

Spring has arrived, which means the members of the RBG Inn of Court have emerged from winter hibernation, blinking into the sunlight and dusting off our case law.

Our March meeting was a great reminder of what makes the Inn special: sharp legal minds, good humor, and the camaraderie that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg herself championed.

Proof that when lawyers, judges, and law students come together in the spirit of learning and mentorship, the law can bloom right alongside spring.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a giant in American law and the namesake of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Inn of Court.

Through brilliance, grit, and quiet yet unshakable determination, she reshaped the law in ways that opened doors for generations to follow. Her opinions, dissents, and lifelong advocacy reminded us that the Constitution is not static; it is a promise that must be continually fought for and fulfilled.

Her legacy is also a reminder of the values that guide our own Inn: camaraderie among members of the bench and bar, a commitment to intellectual rigor in the law, and a shared dedication to service. Justice Ginsburg exemplified each of these ideals: a brilliant jurist, a respected colleague, and a public servant who believed deeply in the legal profession's power to strengthen our society.

On her birthday, we celebrate not only her remarkable life but also the example she set for all who follow the law with purpose and integrity.

RBG Inn of Court is a wonderful place to connect, learn, and build lasting friendships within the legal community.

We’re proud to bring judges, attorneys, and law students together not only for meaningful education, but also for a little stress relief and the kind of conversations that remind us why we chose this profession in the first place.

The practice of law can be demanding, but spaces like the RBG Inn help redirect our energy and purpose toward what’s possible when a community of thoughtful, committed professionals comes together.
