Temporary Suspension of Operations

Dear Valued Partners and Members of What Do You Got - US,

We regret to inform you that What Do You Got – US will be temporarily suspending its business operations effective September 1st.

This difficult decision is due to unforeseen personal challenges limiting our ability to operate as planned. This was by no means an easy decision to come to, and is deeply disappointing for everyone involved, but we can assure you it is for the best.

At this time, we are unable to provide a timeline as to when we will resume operations. We do wish to emphasize that we are not dissolving as an organization, and are taking steps to ensure that when we return to service, we can maintain the high standards you expect from us.

Impact:
• Executive officials will still continue to meet as per internal policies, and will still remain available for contact

• Our Discord server and website will remain open and operational. They will still be monitored by organization staff, but responses may be limited and partially delayed

• Applicants from the Dignified Angels program will be receiving further communication from us regarding handling collected information

• All organizational funds and assets will be frozen until operations resume, and no additional funding will be accepted at this time

• Activity on social media accounts related to the organization will be suspended, and updates from all blogs will cease. Users are advised to archive or save any informational posts from official accounts as we cannot guarantee those accounts will remain operational during our hiatus.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause. We deeply appreciate your continued patience and support, and we look forward to resuming normal operations whenever that may be.

July 2026 Update
With summer fully underway, What Do You Got - US has made steps towards completing our current goals. Streamlining organizational priorities has allowed us to shift our focus fully onto our current projects.

Dignified Angels:

Applications to become a recipient of the Dignified Angels program have closed. We are working as quickly as we can to process those applications, and we ask applicants to be patient with us at this time. We are still taking applications for donors, so if you are interested in becoming a donor, please look to our application process on the Dignified Angels webpage here.

As soon as applications have been fully processed, we will be sending out communication to all approved applicants regarding next steps. We are currently fine-tuning the infrastructure to allow the secure transfer of donated items, and that communication will feature instructions, so please keep any official communication regarding Dignified Angels should you receive it.

Discord:

Moving on to our Discord server, it has undergone some recent changes, with the addition of some new channels, including a dedicated section for Dignified Angels. Our volunteer staff are also coming up with new ways to increase engagement on the server, so if you have suggestions, we would love to hear them!

It Takes a Village:

One of our most exciting projects currently underway is the development of our new podcast series, "It Takes a Village". Our founder will be going live on TikTok, collaborating with various experts to share insider knowledge on a wide variety of topics to discuss how to recover from economic problems affecting our communities. Make sure you are subscribed and have your notifications on so you can participate in the live sessions, but if you miss them, no worries, as they will also be made available later!

March 2026 Update
After a short break to review internal structures and make plans for the upcoming year, we have now launched our first social program, Dignified Angels. Dignified Angels is designed to connect those interested in sharing what they have with those who are also experiencing poverty, financial hardship, crisis, or other demonstrated need. By facilitating the connection between community members, we are helping to foster social connection, reduce unnecessary waste, and provide assistance to those in need. We are currently fine-tuning the process, however applications are now open for both donees and donors alike. Please check out our social pages for more information.

Changes are also coming to our website and discord servers. We are looking to implement more security features to both of our discord servers as well as launch more social activities to promote engagement on our primary platform, while also bring our website up-to-date with our growing needs. Please be patient with us as we continue to upgrade and grow, and thank you always for those of you who have given us your support.

May 2026 Update
Now that we have celebrated our first year in operation, WDYG - US is looking forward to our next steps.

We are currently in the process of improving our discord server to make it a more welcoming and secure place for our members. Channels have been reorganized to be friendlier for new members, and unused spaces have been removed. We are also currently re-evaluating our rules and procedures to make server expectations clearer. We are also currently in the planning process of putting on more events in the Discord server, so keep an eye on the announcements channel and the events page here on this website for more information.

We are currently still processing donee applications for our newest social welfare program, Dignified Angels, and are currently taking applications for donors to fulfill the wishlist requests. Donees can expect further communication soon once all applications have been processed, however additional updates may be provided upon request. We appreciate the patience of the donee applicants at this time.

April 2026 Update: WDYG - US 1st Anniversary

What Do You Got - US has turned a year old this April, and we have grown so much in such a short period of time. We have learned so much, and are so excited to see where we'll be able to go as we continue to expand. We want to thank everyone who has vested their interest in our organization, including our amazing volunteers.

On April 24th, 2025, our founder, Anne Engell-Campbell woke up with an idea; to build a community of trade and barter based on the principles of her grandparents' experiences during the Great Depression, in an effort to help the communities of today. Fast forward two months later, we had the basis of a foundation and a solid crew of individuals working together to put together a non-profit that would turn that idea into a reality. And by December, our application to become an officially recognized 501(c)(3) had been approved.

While we never expected to get to where we are so quickly, we made sure to hit the ground running, launching our first initiative in February 2026 with Dignified Angels; a program designed around the trade of items to reduce the financial strain on lower-income households. We opened applications in March with profound success, and we've developed plans to expand greatly going forward for the next year.

Speaking of this coming year, we've taken the many lessons we've learned over the past 12 months and put them forward to set new goals for the coming ones. Our largest goal is to secure funding to sustain our organization, both to support our programs' financial needs but also support our amazing group of executives and volunteers. We intend to expand, and collaborate with various partners to spread our message and practices, as well as launch new initiatives to further help our surrounding communities.

As we celebrate our first anniversary, we want to express just how grateful we are to everyone in our circle, not just our staff and volunteers but our community at large and the partners we've worked with to help us grow into what we are. And we are also grateful for the community we will build as we continue on our mission to treat everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve.
