Today the U.S. Department of War officially launched PURSUE (Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters), a new government initiative aimed at releasing previously classified UAP records to the public through the official WAR.GOV/UFO portal. The rollout involves multiple agencies including NASA, ODNI, the FBI, and AARO.

At the International UFO Bureau, we want to make one thing clear:

We are not government affiliated. We are independent. We investigate for the people.

As new material is released, our team will be reviewing the data, comparing it against historical cases, and asking the same question we always do:

Stay with the Bureau.

The article "Two veterans shaped the UFO phenomenon from a joke into real federal policy" highlights an intriguing aspect of UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) research. The report reveals that two former military personnel, Captain Edward Ruppelt and Major Donald Keyhoe, played a crucial role in transforming a seemingly trivial matter – a flying saucer sighting – into a significant government concern.

In 1947, the first reported UAP sighting occurred when a private pilot, Kenneth Arnold, witnessed nine disk-shaped objects flying in formation over Mount Rainier. This incident sparked widespread media attention and public fascination with extraterrestrial life. Captain Edward Ruppelt, an Air Force officer, was tasked with investigating these reports, which led to the creation of Project Blue Book in 1952.

Major Donald Keyhoe, a retired Marine Corps pilot, also became involved in UAP research.
